once again ive been screwed out of a guaranteed 1st/2nd and got 3rd....oh yes the usual story i play solid poker all game double up my stack to around 6000 chips another guys got roughly the same and 1 more on about 1500 the blinds r gettin pretty big bout 100-150.. so all i have to do is play my good hands and wait for the short stack to go, and there guaranteed a decent prize,, but ohh no this can't possibly happen because the other big stack starts doubling him up with k5 vs ak, then 99 vs q10... so as the game goes on ive had to fold a few big blind because this guy is so bad, so once again i've got some work to do to guarantee myself a decent prize, i bet with this guy on a couple of hands, as he was soo bad he ended up winning a few as did i not really changing our stacks.(short stack has about 3000 chips at this point)....so yes u can probably guess what happens next i pick up AK so i raise 320 to the big blind, so the other big stack re raises me....so at this point im thinkin, about this short stack and waiting for him to lose, which should have happend about 20 earlier, before i commit all my chips,, but then i think no i have the best hand here there's no way im folding, i can finish this game right here if he's got a pair i'll take that risk, but i know he hasn't because he was soo bad....so i go all in he's got aj so im like sweet im a huge favourite goin in2 this hand 76% to 26% pre flop so what happens Seat 3: CRCEO (5,635)
Seat 4: Kev_7883 (5,075)
Seat 6: fismoluni (2,790)
fismoluni posts the small blind of 80
CRCEO posts the big blind of 160
The button is in seat #4
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Kev_7883 [As Kh]
Kev_7883 raises to 320
fismoluni folds
CRCEO raises to 1,040
Kev_7883 has 15 seconds left to act
Kev_7883 raises to 5,075, and is all in
CRCEO calls 4,035
Kev_7883 shows [As Kh]
CRCEO shows [Ac Jh]
*** FLOP *** [3h 2c 6c]
*** TURN *** [3h 2c 6c] [5c]
*** RIVER *** [3h 2c 6c 5c] [4c]
Kev_7883 shows a straight, Six high
CRCEO shows a flush, Ace high
CRCEO wins the pot (10,230) with a flush, Ace high
Kev_7883 stands up
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 10,230 | Rake 0
Board: [3h 2c 6c 5c 4c]
Seat 3: CRCEO (big blind) showed [Ac Jh] and won (10,230) with a flush, Ace high
Seat 4: Kev_7883 (button) showed [As Kh] and lost with a straight, Six high
Seat 6: fismoluni (small blind) folded before the Flop

All you can do is get it in good. Don't be results orientated and realize you made a good read, got the chips in good, but things did not work out. At least it happened after you made it down to 3 players and not before you reached the money. Getting sucked out on ITM isn't the worst thing that can happen.

The problem was going all in preflop. The size of the reraise let you know he was holding some thing he thought was strong, regardless of which two cards each of you held. This made the whole hand a coin flip. If you had just called the reraise and seen the flop, you could have made a better decision. The end result would have been the same if you went allin on the flop, but if you checked the flop and he bet you could call for another card. When you met the 3rd club on the turn your best bet would probably been to fold there.

The only time your hand is better is if the hand is folded to you or you beat the showdown. The fold was not happening, so all in PF was not a good play if you were going for #1.

SH!T happens. Been running bad lately myself. Last tourney (2table) was nearing final table w KK in bb. CO mini raises; button (short about half my stack) raised allin; I reraise allin and CO calls. Of course Co has QQ button has 10 10. they both hit their set on turn and river and me and button bust out. I was screwed no matter what unless I fold and thats not gonna happen unless im 1 pos out of money then probally not then either.

Very sharp cheese with this whine please. Laughing
