Regarding calling the 3bet, this had been a pretty agressive match so his range is pretty wide, getting 3:1 is that a pretty standard call ? Then what do i do on the river here after he 4bets me ? |

For the love of God shove. The only hand you're behind is KQ. Unless he's just ridiculously tight post flop which I'm guessing he's nowhere near that you crush his range which can have all kinds of two pairs/sets/even a smaller straight most of which will pay you off if the match has been as aggro as you say.
As for PF I haven't played HU in a while but I think calling the small 3bet IP against a guy whose raising light is fine as long as you're comfortable playing it post flop. |

Do you have any reads other than he has been 3 betting light?
Calling IP is ok. I think its completely fine against someone who is really aggro and will bluff a ton of flops and double barrel a lot too. But that does not seem like this type of guy since he is checking the flop and turn on this type of board. I'd probably actually bet the turn after he checks. But if he is giving up on this type of flop a lot, then I'd call with the intention of bluffing him on a ton of flops.
And yes, shove. He could have KQ, but he could also have 99, T9, or J9 after checking the flop and turn for pot control or something dumb like that. Oh, and he could have a worse straight with 87. Not getting it in against these hands is just giving up a ton of value. He could also have a set or something where he was getting fancy and trying to c/r the flop and try to c/r the turn after failing to get you to bet the flop. Or that could even be the correct thing to do based on the game flow. |
