A counter for how many times you have completed a challenge. This should be a high priority, and been done a long time ago.
Other games beside Holdem. I know it's not possible with the current software, but the other games are increasing in popularity, and the academy is a perfect tool to promote them.
On the My Academy Page, The "My Academy - Your Personal Dashboard" graphic at the top just takes up space. When I click on My Academy I would like to see My Challenges at the top of the page, Not a large graphic. Also the "Customize This Page" check boxs at the bottom don't work.

| robert williamson plo lesson is very well done and helpful. i would love to see some more lessons and challenges that are not hold em based. i think getting williamson or matusow to do something involving horse or the new 7 game mixed would be a great addition. i think matusow's mixed game play is often overlooked |

I'd love to change the structure of the SNL Freerolls. I know that FTP probably wants people to log in on BOTH Saturday AND Sunday, but the current format just isn't very good. I don't know how it worked last month, but generally, you have 200-300 people in each of the Saturday tournies playing for 100 spots in each of 20 tournies. That means you've got about a 50-50 shot of getting to Sunday. Qualify for 4 or 5 tounries, and you're a lock. Not to mention that so many people sit out that it's really difficult NOT to qualify.
Here's an idea: Small cash prizes on Saturday to the top 9 in each tournament (Perhaps a $25-$50 prize pool across 20 tournaments, meaning you spend about $500-$1000.) You could even use the standard payout table; paying 20 out of 200 would eliminate all the drones.
Then, the -WINNER- of each Saturday tournament gets a ticket to a 20-player bigtime tourney for $2500, $3000, or whatever you deem worthy. Pay out top 3, making the prizes $1500, $1000, and $500.
This accomplishes the goals of both "spreading the love" amongst FTPA players with some small prizes, -AND- having a pretty damn nice prize at the end that's -REALLY- worth fighting for. Sure, you only have 20 players playing both days instead of 700 people in the Sunday tourney, but most of the people who make it to Sunday don't play anyway! |

i would definitely like to see a counter for number of times a challenge has been completed, just like kronx mentioned.
as well with this sit-and-learns i think the questions should be altered based on whether one has previously completed it or not. what I mean is selecting questions for the sit-and-learn from a larger "pool" of questions based on the lesson, and have them on random rotation based on how many times you have completed the challenge. for people who complete them every month for the freeroll, nothing 'new' is really learned by insta-clicking the same answers over again, and i think by rotating the questions it would help people to understand the lesson better and also provide more of a "challenge" to them.
as well when selecting sit-and-learns to do, there is a check-mark next to those completed and a chair icon (i think??) for those you haven't yet attempted. however these icons are based on total history rather than the current month (for freeroll purposes). i think changing those around slightly to show which ones have or have not been completed this current month for those going for the monthly freeroll would be helpful as well. |

Hello Tilters,
We want to continue to improve the Academy, and we definitely value your feedback. Therefore, I am going to offer some goodies to the players who have the best feedback of each month. The goodies will vary from FTP points, tokens, to tournament dollars, and I will also throw in something special from time to time.
All feedback will be easier to read in this thread, but I will also be checking the newly created threads. Thanks for your help!!!! |
One week left, and I think KronX is in the lead. |

I'll bite. It's silly, and won't cost FTP a THING other than programming time, but maybe a little one of those "FTP gruaduation mortarboard" logos that can appear next to your avatar at the tables when you've done something big. Perhaps:
A) Earned a specific number of lifetime AP (i.e. earning 10000 AP gets you a mortarboard)
B) Completed a specific number of challenges 10 times (i.e. Maxing out 5 challenges gets you a mortarboard)
Basically, It's like the Iron Man Chip, but you could place it on the upper left instead of the upper right. You could even have it be different colors signifiying different levels (Freshman, Sophmore, Junior, Senior - although maybe that's a bit US-Centric. First Grade? A bit babyish.) You could even create a leaderboard that you could opt into that shows how many of the challenges you've completed, and commpare to others. |

I have a few comments/questions, and may have picked up on a couple of bugs.
On My Academy page, I see this graphic towards the bottom of the page:
What does the number mean on the tabs? I assumed it meant the number of times I completed the corresponding item. For example the "3" after "Sit N Learn" means I completed three SNL's? But my transcript says that I have completed four. The text on the tabs is cut off slightly as well.
When I click on the SNL tab, the number on the "Challenge" tab changes to "2" and the number on the SNL disappears:
And why not show all of my SNL's on this page?... it's only showing the last one completed.
When I click on the "Lesson" tab, the number on the "Session" tab changes to zero and the number on the "Challenge" tab changes to one:
When I click on "View my transcript", I see this:
When I click on "Task Details", I hear the narrator say, "This is a Full Tilt Poker Academy challenge. You will be given tasks..." When he finishes talking, I see this error message pop up:

A couple more minor things:
On my challenge summary, I see this:
I suggest simplifying this to say:
Credits Earned: 127 of 200
Tasks Completed: 4 of 5
The term "Available Credits" confused me at first... I thought that's how many credits I had available in my account (say, to purchase items).
And on my transcript page, I see this:
The pro name and date completed is missing. I'm fairly sure that I sat in on Ali Nejad's HORSE session several months ago. The PLO one was Brandon Adams, I believe... not 100% sure. |

other bugs/improvements
-it's been mentioned, but a counter for how many times you have completed a certain challenge. as well, for the ones you have done 10x, you can still select them from the list of challenges, but they just don't appear in your 'My Academy' page. something to fix this would be good.
-when selecting 'My Pros', they often have a tendency to just disappear to nowhere and you're forced to reselect them. Minor I know, but I'm assuming it's a bug nonetheless.
-I also get the same problems first mentioned by Pete D (for "My Completed Academy") |

Best thing I would like to see happen... tables just for FTP Academy students... combine this with the "mortarboard" idea from above and maybe that can keep it to just Academy students and FTP Pros in the ring games and SnGs. Sure some will start up with the Academy just to get into these games, but that's good too, right? This helps promote the Academy and gives us Academy students a chance to practice what we learned in the lessons and sessions and complete challenges.
I would also like to see more value given to the $5k SNL Satellites... even if it were just play money, FTPs or FTP Academy credits given to the final table. Something to keep them worth playing even after you've already qualified once, and keep playing to the end. This will get more players in them to begin with too. Satellites are so prevalent in online poker that these should be great learning tools. With the structure and interest level, right now they're not. |

Hrm, here's an idea for the FTP marketing department: FTPA Newsletter. You can select when you want to get an email:
[ ] I want an email when you have a new challenge
[ ] I wnat an email when you have a new lesson / SitNLearn
[ ] I want an email when you have a new session
[ ] I want an email when you have a new podcast |

real serious issue:
ANYONE eligible for ANY sit-n-learn qualifier
SHOULD BE NOTIFIED AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE,
WITH DIRECTIONS ON WHERE TO FIND THE QUALIFIER freerolls
and how 2 sign up for them.
these monthly trainwrecks have 2 stop!!!!

I didn't read all the stuff on this board obviously, but I would really love to see some more challenges and lessons in areas outside of Hold'em. Challenges for beginners in Razz and Stud would be great, and maybe even some challenges for rotating games like HORSE, etc.
A second suggestion I have is that in the Academy Store, it would be nice if the items had descriptions. Right now, when I click on most items, it simply tells me I can't afford the item.
Overall, I think the Academy is great and you all are doing an awesome job with it. Keep it up! |

Hello . I do enjoy the Academy , I think the challenges are great . But there are bugs and mysteries to me . As far as I can tell , there are not really any freerolls . I cdan't find out when they are , Never got any notification . There is a bug in the Harmon online tell Sit and learn The answers come out wrong , even though they are right . There is no one to correct this ?
As is usual There is no one to answer Questions . This is a Common theme here , and it is frustrating . Why not **** can the free rolls and give points , or at least have someone read this forum and explain what is going on ? Fix the bugs Simple ,,NO ? |
