Just recently transfered some funds to a friend who fixed me up in cash. Until then I was on fire up from $80 to around $350 (about a 2 month period). Since doing that I have been on the WORST STREAK ever. Down to about $15 (not including the $100 cash). I know, I know. Bad beat stories abound, cry me a river, variance etc. Just curious if maybe the fact I transfered more than I initially deposited in the first place maybe raised a flag or something. Has any1 else had a similar experience? I'm a fairly tight aggressive player that patiently waits for prem hands and plays them hard. I don't donk around with rubbish (though of course everyhand is situational, opponent vs stacksize vs pos etc). Just at my wits end. Don't know if I can bring myself to redeposit even tho I love the convenience of online poker. Are other sites the same? Just seems crazy that one day i'm playing brilliantly, cashing all the time and then all of a sudden with no change in strategy I'm getting crushed, more often than not with the best of it. Any way thx for any replies and gl at the tables (except if i'm sitting there 2 of course).

I think you're talking about the 'Cashout Curse'....it doesn't exist.

Thoughtful, sincere replies only please. While it may seem like I'm being a little paranoid, my enquiry is legit.

By reading your post, I understand you believe that you have been dealt poor hands because FTP flagged up something in your account?

Well that's wrong... the algorithm is random (despite what you see the donks say in the poker stories section) and variance is the thing at fault here... nothing to do with how much you've deposited/transferred etc.

Any BR management adjustments after your withdraw?...or did you continue to play the same stakes as before?

Variance seems alot more 'harsh' when you playing out your BR.

You're right, not a very helpful comment. However, the insuation that your cards are somehow tied to a withdrawl is humorous. I have never withdrawn and am in a card dead period myself. As others have said Bank Roll Management are the three most important things for a developing poker player to master.
Best of health!

When I first started playing on FT I used to put about half my bankroll on a higher stakes empty table and just sit out. Then play my normal stakes tables for what was within my BR management rules. I thought I would get a green flag, i.e. a higher luck factor, for playing with more of my bankroll at risk. Something I thought FT would like to see is more money at risk. It actually seemed to work at first but then after awhile I relized it made no difference. I think it worked at first because I had more confidence at getting lucky and simply played more aggressive, but variance caught up with me eventually...

This is what you're referring to and what the others have said is correct...it doesn't exist and isn't tied together. Poker is a game of variance. It's a beautiful thing when beginners run hot at the start (I'm not saying this is you, just an example) and they feel that they know how to play the game and continue with that expectation of winning. Then the inevitableness of losing, if they don't play correct, sets in and it's cha-ching time!
