If you are to the point where you are getting tilted by other people's bad beats you should definately be taking some time off.

1 out of the 3 is someone else getting a bad beat. That isn't the point. The point is, on all 3 hands the favorite is way ahead by the turn. For the first 2 examples, the villain is absolutely crushed pre-flop, heading into the flop with a weak ace high drawing to 3 cards to win with a probability of ~10%.

Wow, maybe you shouldn't have sent that email.

To the OP: Relax. If these beats are tilting you, it's time to step away for at least a little while. Go watch a movie or a ball game and clear your head.

Beats happen, it's the nature of the game.

Those bad beats suck, and I have definitely suffered from many of them. The worst is I'll be in the BB with QJ and I'll hit the Q on the flop, a few bets and calls later and I wind up losing to the other guy who has QK. That really hurts, it's almost like someone planned it...

But guess what? I have also been on the winning end several times. All-in with AJ against AK and the jack comes on the river, etc.

Go to the movies, take a day off. And when you come back, remove all distractions. Turn off the TV etc.

I feel your pain dude. I have seen or been involved in some funny old hands recently Q6>Aks , 66>AQs and my prsonal favorite..my flopped str8 beaten to death by 22, runner runner FH.

Try doing what i do. Turn off the pc, shout and rant for a bit then go over your HH for the game. Gives you time to assess your game AND to cool down a bit. Try and shrug it off, then have another crack at it, applying what you learned whilst it is still fresh in your mind.

BTW my new siggy is spot on.

True, not a bad beat but i'd still favor AQ over a mid pair and the dude who lost probably thought it was a bad result, just trying to show how subjective these things can be...I guess thats why i'm still plonking around in the micro limits.

errr, if they were all in pre-flop, 6-6 has a higher percent chance of winning.

Sorry, should have made myself clearer. OTF he hit queen and pushed from there, third six ended it. Also the Q6>AK was a similar thing, hit the king and lost to 6 Q, turn and river. Not terrible beats when looked at from a distance but the loser would feel that a bad beat had occured, was the point i was trying to make.
I haven't got round to the whole 'percentages' thing yet, still learning to play really and I just wanted to offer support and encouragement to a fellow player with a little advice on tilting, something which I am quite good at avoiding and controlling.
