I'm being very conservative with my bank roll, right now it's at $230-240'ish, that I've built from $40.
Right now my ROI % on $2 STT's is roughly 42% after 200 games... I want to get my BR to at least $275-300 before moving to $5's... is the skill level between $2 and $5 noticable? |

| I don't play SnGs too much, but i would say it is somewhat noticeable, but you really shouldn't be concerned. If you can maintain even half of that ROI at the $5 level, you still would be making more money. The only downside is the bankroll swings would be larger, but even with $230 (40+ buyins) you should be ok. |

the difference between $2 and $5 sit and gos is not all that noticable.
I suggest that you have always 50 buy ins for the sit and goes you play (assuming these are 1 table sit and goes).
for multitable sit and goes i would advise to have more buy ins.
what you could do is mix in some $5 sit and goes while you still play $2 sit and goes, so the transfer to the higher limit is a bit smoother. you can always go back to the $2 sit and goes, which you seem to crush.
good job on building your bankroll |

thats a sweet ROI. i was pretty much in exactly your position about a month ago. i deposited $100 and ground it up to $300 at $2 sng's with an ROI of about 37%. i made the rule for myself that i would only move up to $5's when my BR hit $300. most people would say that your current BR is decent enough, but i personally would wait slightly longer. like you said, 275-300 is optimal to move up to $5's
i asked the same question as you and found the answer for myself - the play is almost exactly the same. you will still see people cranking in 15BB's preflop with a4o after a raise before them. you will still see people stacking off with middle pair no kicker when they're obviously beat. and players at this level love to announce to the enite table when they get aces. so no, the play doesn't change much. if you sharkscope those sort of players, you'd be suprised to see how many of the donkish ones chop and change their buy-ins, all the way from $1's to $10's.
be ready for the swings of variance though. i am only recently coming off a really bad downswing where my BR of $355 was punished all the way back down to $300. ive only just now recovered my losses. with a smaller BR and at a higher stake level long downswings can start to hurt.
you definitely seem to know what you're doing, so good luck with it. im sure you'll go well at the $5 level |

| I think the play at $5 is actually nicer to play that $2. You still get donks for sure, but not always ones as crazy, though weekends not counted in this. Certainly if you are making 40%+ ROI at $2 see no reason you shouldn't do fine at $5 so give it a try and see. |

Well I was playing $5 before I played about 20-30 games, but then I read that you should have 50 buy-ins minimum, which I'm a few short of. I did pretty well, I just wanted to "follow the book" exactly when it came to BRM.
But yeah, I decided I'm going to move up, thanks guys |

| I tend to think 50 buy-ins is a little steep for STT. If it's MTT, then yes you need more buy-ins because of the larger variance. If it's STT's you play, then I would give the next level a shot when you reach 20 buy-in's....and drop back down a level if you don't maintain that. Obviously the higher the stakes, the larger the BR swings. |
