I typically play AK pretty conservatively. I like to smooth call a raiser, and with heavy action (raise/reraise) I will often fold right off. Most people don't want to play that kind of style. I'm ...

It took me a few tries to jump up from the $5s to the $10s. Just keep taking shots at the higher level when your BR is up, but don't be afraid to move back down and rebuild if things don't go well. ...

I mostly agree with your post, especially regarding the idea that an early double up isn't worth a big risk. However, you should never be afraid of bad luck with AA. If you think you can get it in p ...

I say fold. Perhaps you'd consider calling if you were the big blind and everyone else folded, but otherwise you have to worry about two active players. Oh, and the raiser shoved UTG for whatever th ...

Don't play SnGs if you're actually trying to make money.

IMO a lot of people are thinking of this in terms of a cash game, instead of a SNG. You HAVE to take into account that you are very near the money. If you bust, you can't reload. Where you stand now, ...

OK, I understand that the SB's range is a bit tighter, but it can't be tighter than QQ? He could be calling there with like 99+, AK, AQ. Maybe even 88 and AJs?

I like the call. Hopefully you're up against AK and AK.

You are correct. Solid first post. Welcome to the forum.

Ooops, one problem. The raiser doesn't need to double the bet to make a raise, he needs to raise at least the amount of the previous rais ...

Pencil me in for $5.50 too please. I'm on a down-streak, and I need some love. I play lousy starting hands, and it drives my girlfriend crazy.

I play $11 and $22 SnGs. I've played a few thousand tournaments. I'm no pro, but definitely not a beginner either. Take a look at my Sharkscope graph. I have had downswings that lasted 250 games. ...

Tough hand. I usually see people limp with suited cards, connected cards and gappers, or pocket pairs. Those ranges contain a lot of hands that just out-flopped you. There are two sets that make se ...

I also think your analysis is way off. You correctly state that variance will be much higher against players who gamble too much, but your profits will also be higher (provided that you play well). ...

You must shove here. You have a decent hand, possibility even the best hand at the table. Plus (this might be even more important) the big blind is the guy who can least afford to call your bet. He ...

I made a nice amount of money this past summer playing the $8.80 tournaments on FTP. I was averaging over 100% ROI, and those games were so soft. I actually refrained from mentioning it on the forum ...
