A Funeral Service will take place 11:00 AM Eastern Time, September 10, 2008.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of his son's choice. The choice has not yet been named.
An online guestbook is available. I have posted there, and included a link to this thread and the thread on 2+2.
I'm looking for a trusted forum regular to collect funds and order a floral arrangement. Any volunteers? |

I was simply asking for his first name. I don't see why this would intrude any of his families personal lives at all.
I think it is a bit more sad than him dying, than someone dying without a name. |

abominable IS a name good enough for everybody not knowing him.
People who knew him a bit better do know his first name.
For all others there is simply no point in knowing.
why would you be less saddened if you knew his name was John D.
this is simply not the place to more details to strangers that may not all have good intentions. |

Hey man, this is Abominable's older son. I just wanted to write you to say thanks and let you know that the family has received your kind letter, and we have been reading the forums.
Thank you very much for your kind wishes, if it's not too much trouble please pass our extreme gratitude on to the good folks on the poker forums. You all were an important part of our father's life, he had many fond memories of various games, creative transactions, and scammer-fighting that he passed on to us.
Many thanks again |

I was wondering if someone should donate a table in his honor? It sounds like a good idea to me. |

I didn't know him personally but, wow! sounds like a stand up guy. It's tough to know there's one less good person out there. Having lost my older brother this year, I feel sorry for the family.
God Bless |
