i am a lucky girl as my hubby plays also, both online and live. i think if he wouldn't we might have a serious issue,...
ppl that are not 'into playing poker' hardly can understand why someone would spend so much time and effort with the game and also with such non value add things (for the outstanding person) like forums |

I think Bigpairde was jokingly referring to you having both a wife and a girlfriend...
Personally, I'm still undecided as to whether a poker-enthusiast girlfriend is a good or a bad thing. There are pros and cons. Mine is beginning to annoy me by hovering over my shoulder and either offering advice, or asking what I'm doing. Plus she has octupled* her roll in four weeks, and is constantly bugging me to log off so she can play.
I tell her to get back in the kitchen, obviously. But it's still annoying.
*I'm pretty confident that that's a legitimate word. |

sorry , was a bit slow on the goirfriend / wife comment
from what you say, your solution might be actually to be the annoying wife giving advice behind your her back.
sharing though is so much better than feeling guilty, etc... |

Maybe take the advice if she is owning you so bad, or the alternitive, Slap on the French Maid pinnie and get into the washing up
My wife has no intrest in the poker at all, i have tried to enthuse her on the subject but she is having none of it. It would be nice if she watched me and got into it, but she just glazes over and watches kim and aggie instead |

legit,LO.
i know an older couple in upstate NY on stars, he plays PLO/8, she plays
stud/8 [both in the micro-micros]... they share one PC.
Might be time 4 a 2nd PC and a router [wired or wireless].
Also, a microwave might be recommended, esp. if she gets deep in a turny and tells u to "fix ur own goddam dinner".
Just trying 2 help. really.

it might work better if you add "and make me a sandwich" to that statement. And octupled is a word, just like quadrupled and quintupled.
My wife likes poker, but she won't play online for money anymore, at least i don't think. She likes live play once in a while. She did deposit $100 on PS a couple years back and lost it within a couple weeks, then lost interest. She actually is a decent player from what i've seen, but she doesn't understand the long term and variance aspects of the game. |

My husband could care less. Although he brags to his friends that I win once in awhile. I can see how the jealousy thing might set in for younger couples......... "you don't spend enough time with me whaaaaaa "

I've gotten my wife into playing sparingly. She will get into a game and then get distracted and get pissy because the screen keeps popping up. she hasn't played live yet. I have tried to get her to play in a ladies night tournament at our local cardroom but that still hasn't happened. She too doesn't really understand the math and numbers aspect that goes into playing poker. She just knows what beats what and plays accordingly. I have transferred about $5 into her account and it lasted her a few weeks and now whenever she plays it is either freerolls (even my fantasy freerolls that I cannot play in) or play money. She will occasionally watch me play and I play every game that FT offers and she just gets all confused.
Like Mzbuns said...she also gets mad because I can spend quite a bit of time playing and not enough time with her. I've learned when to play and when not to. |
