Are you sure he was only trying to push you out of the pot? I wouldn't assume a min raise preflop is just to push you off your hand.
If you truly think that is the case then I would either reraise and push HIM out of the pot or just fold and pick a better spot. I prefer the fold.
As it stands right now I think you have to fold. |

You made right play preflop. Post flop you should have just the initial bet and not raise. If you raise, raise just a little less to save you some chips (400-500). There is no need to re-raise to 600, and then fold to the re-raise by him.
What could he have...
Very limited info but consider...a min raise, then pushes back with that board post-flop...range (jj - aa). Other possibilities (strong flush draw or possible set to protect against the flush draw, maybe ace 8). In any case you are likely beat, but I dont know the player or the history that has occurred such as...how often he raises? how much does he raise? what happened hand before? How does he play post flop? What is your image?
So in this case call the bet on the flop, actually his bet is what you want. The pot is not that big, and you have a hand, albeit a small hand...remember small hands should have small pots.
P.S. I am giving poker lessons starting next week, they will be free to players who have NOT PLAYED on full tilt. I will get my compensation via affiliate payback. If you have played on fulltilt maybe we can work something out, just the offer is more appealing to those who have not played because it does not cost them anything. So if you have friends or someone who might be interested, email foshofigs@yahoo and I will explain much more (procedures, etc). My sharkscope could be looked up at dafigs (no player with higher avg profit for mid stakes on full tilt). |
