Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding limits of behavoiur and/or language .
As is often the case, one comes up against people who will be betting their A 2 (or some other raggy hand)against my AK .( The flop comes, and sure enough an A will fall. A 2 will go all in leaving me with no choice but to call, unless I believe the player to know what he is doing in which case (very rarely,)I may fold. So , I have called, and then a 2 will hit the turn or river, giving my opp the hand. This is very annoying, but I accept it happens,(luckily less than more otherwise Id give up the game).
My question is, am I being overly rude say something like 'lucky donk', after he collects his chips? Usually I say nothing and just resolve to take this player out at the first occasion, but it is annoying. Personally , I don not think I am being too rude, yet some people seem to get very upset if you call them donkey or fish .

HI,
it isn't nice but neither is it overly rude. there are some others calling people worse names.
BUT:
still,...it shows your temper getting the better of you which you should try and avoid playing poker.
So what I would do in such situations (when you are too upset to keep your mouth shut) is that I would get sarcastically,.....which the opponent might or might not get (more often the latter),...so I would say something like,...nh,...or very nice call,....
if you call the oponent names, it might tip him off and he MIGHT wonder why and improve his game,.....this is what you want to avoid by any means don't you |

Hello bigpairde,
Ty, very nice reply, informative and succinct. You are right, why let a player know where they are going wrong during play. |

| I usually don't say anything. They get lucky sometimes, but more often than not in that spot, you'll profit in the long term. |
