| Variance and I have one of those love hate relationships that can shift in a few hours. As the day started was having trouble getting anywhere close to the money as if there were a barrier in my path. So we parted ways and took a break from each other for the afternoon. I returned this evening and it was as if we were on the same team. Managed to best a field of 440, luck certainly helped, but we were just rolling. Just thought it was interesting how KK had me winning the hand when we got our money in earlier and the guy caught his set on the river to winning 2 mtts. This might should've gone under stories, but I'm a beginner so I figured this suitable also. |

Hello
yes, this variance issue, 'just like fulltilt flick a switch' and "boom" nothing works anymore . I have been playing for real money for less than a year and about a month ago I hit a wall. From a constant progression financially,I suddenly started losing. You begin to wonder what is wrong. Was my game just bad in the first place? Was I just lucky those first few months and now reality has set in ? Am I playing any differently than I was at the start? Did fulltilt flick a switch ? (Seriously I do not believe this last option though at times paranoia is hard to defeat)
I have heard lots about this 'losing run ', even when one plays the same game as normal. Is it a myth? or is it fact ? Can any long term winners here please let me know if they too get bad losses over , say, 4 weeks, and what do they do if so? |
