Warning, those of you who dislike lousy players whining about how unlucly they are, read no further. I'm just letting off steam.

Time to wave the white flag?

18 months running like this, -$3,400, no end in sight.

I've tried to keep learning, adjust my play, and help little old ladies across the street, but I can't seem to overcome this.

There is something fundamentally wrong in my approach, and I cannot fathom what it is.

It seems that I flat-out can't extract value from my playable hands. I either raise too much and they fold, or they call, and I either completely mis-read them or, I'm spot-on, and they suck out.

I'll usually grind a small profit for an hour or so, study my opponents, looking for opportunities. Then usually in the span of an orbit or two, the wheels fall off.

Argh!

If so, after 18 months I think you should maybe quit poker and try another game.
