The villian was very hesitant to get into any big pots without a hand. He seemed to like shoving any turn or river that had nut hi or nut low potential. He was building a pot on speculation, and when the turn or river hit his hand, he tried to take it down to avoid a chop.
This hand plays more like a PLO hand, as the low didn't come into play here.
I can't see his raise to me anything other than a boat, but do I still try to raise here, or just call?

| He probably has J3, but I'd 4bet it at this point of the tourney. |

Cubbies,
Given that you read this guy as hesitant to get into any big hands without at least a nut draw on the turn, I'd think you're right that he has a boat. I'd figure would have bet at least something on the flop or raised on the turn with either J-9 or 2-2, so I'd have to put him on 3-3 or J-3, with J-2 an outside possibility. Since any raise makes it tough to fold if he comes back over the top, and because you beat one, lose to one and chop one of the villain's most likely hands, I'd go with a call.

Ooopps. Misread it as Limit. Don't 4bet. Just call against quality villians.
If you feel like gambling abit though and your opponent is just ok, your equity against his range is pretty good. Most players will bet the J behind you on this flop and definitely J9. Your behind only J9 and J3, you're ahead of 22, 33, 99. J2 tied.
If he's bad enough to not bet the J in position OTF, then he's bad enough to slow play any set. |

I only called. I guess I just didn't see much reason to re-raise here with a few hands beating me.
