Two hands, the first of which I felt I made a good read on someone with aces who got very lucky. The second hand is the real question:

Dealer: Hand #4902204821
Dealer: Hog_Heaven_420 posts the small blind of $1
Dealer: momsacct posts the big blind of $2
Dealer: You have been dealt [7d Jd Ts 9h]

Dealer: Hoyle_Funson calls $7
Dealer: MANNY24FAN folds

Dealer: mina1 folds
Dealer: Hog_Heaven_420 folds

Dealer: The flop is [8h Th 2h]
Dealer: momsacct bets $88
Dealer: Rookie Bookie has 15 seconds left to act
Dealer: Rookie Bookie has requested TIME
Dealer: Rookie Bookie folds
Dealer: Hoyle_Funson raises to $352
Dealer: momsacct calls $85.55, and is all in
Dealer: Hoyle_Funson shows [7d Jd Ts 9h]
Dealer: momsacct shows [Tc Ac Ad 8c]
Dealer: Uncalled bet of $178.45 returned to
Hoyle_Funson
Dealer: The turn is [8d]
Dealer: The river is [4s]
Dealer: Hoyle_Funson shows two pair, Tens and
Eights
Dealer: momsacct shows a full house, Eights full of
Tens
Dealer: momsacct wins the pot ($432.10) with a full
house, Eights full of Tens

Was this bad play / tilt or just another bad hand immediately following the last one??

I guess I am leaning towards bad play at this point lol. I probably should have just called that flop, except I didn't want to let someone draw to the straight, and I probably incorrectly figured my odds of getting a full house were decent. I don't know that's why I am on here.

I think the rule should be that whenever you lose a big pot to something bogus, you have to take a minimum five minute break before you even look at another hand. Smile

taking a break after a big loss is always a good idea, i find losses in Omaha are usually a bit more devastating than in NLHE, for me anyway

sorry but bad play. Should've never called the raise preflop with 1 flush possibility. You can say well I had str8 possibility. yeah and so does everyone else, too much of a gamble. bookend str8 draws don't hit a whole lot. good read but this is full tilt and chances are you won't hit the nuts, play more cautious then once you hit the nuts you can play for all the chips. FT tries to teach you that and if you play to aggresive or too timid it will punish you.

Now that is bad luck. It could've gone either way. But again being too aggressive. sit back and be patient. no need to throw your money in there. see what develops. you would've lost alot less if you called post-turn then read your opponent's hand as a straight then folded. Chances are if you don't have the nuts they do. No way am I a pro but thats my opinion.

I'm failing to see where your opponent got very lucky. You are betting this flop like you have a straight. You don't. You have an pair of tens and an open ended straight draw. Your opponent called with his flopped two pair. He started with Aces preflop and remained ahead the whole hand.

Remember, in Omaha your hand is formed from the best five cards using *exactly* three cards from the board and *exactly* two cards from your hand.

Was this bad play? Yes. Even if you put him on AAxx, there is a third person in the hand and it's a one suited flop. This is a classic win a little/lose a lot hand.

In this case, you checkraised the flop and were put all in. Once again, not a great spot to put all your money in. What do you think the villain would 3bet all in here that is worse than your set of 9's? Without a great read, I can't believe that he would push here with just a set of 8's or a draw.
