It is a game played in B&M locations but I haven't seen it anywhere online.

Can you explain spread limit for those that may not be familiar with it....you may get more responses to your post

Spread limit varies from location to location. You might call it demi-no limit. It could be 1-3 or 1-5 etc. You have a range of bets that allow you to create added pressure with a strong hand to eliminate a lot of players on draws.

This subject has actually been brought up from time to time in the past. It is an excellent suggestion and one that other people, myself included, would agree could make FTP a much better site for the non-hold em' players.

I no longer play on FTP because the non-hold em games are quite lacking. I came to FTP because it was the first site I knew of that had RAZZ. Unfortunately though I do not think FTP stayed on top of the game as the online poker landscape change. I now play on stars because FTP can not hold a candle to stars for non-hold em' action.

Spread limit stud games would be a great way for FTP to send a message that they have renewed their commitment to other forms and formats of poker besides NL hold em'.

Another thing I have said about spread limit games in the past I have recently discovered to be untrue. I have played spread limit stud games in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and they were always no ante games. I assumed that was how all spread limit games were played and thought that was a reason why FTP might not spread these types of games. No ante is less profitable so why bother?

Well, I got up to Foxwoods last weekend and discovered they play spread limit stud WITH an ante. If the game is accepted with an ante I can see no reason why spread limit stud would be anything but a good thing for FTP. I am sure it would bring in new money but I guess a few hundred low limit stud players is not very important when there are millions of hold em, players lined up and waiting to pay rake.

Good suggestion and you are not the first to make it. Other people would like to see it as well.

It wouldn't take much of a commitment. The code either exist or isn't far from existing. There is pot limit code and max bet table setups all over the net. That code would take only modest revision to provide spread limit.

Since the UIGEA, it has seemed that many sites are avoiding being competitive in more areas than just added game features. We see fewer bonus programs and some are now fighting the rakeback schemes.

It seems that 'hunker down' is their joint business plan with a captive audience allowing the major sites to avoid going heads up for customer promotions to attract players.

I find it a lot harder to beat the rake these days. That makes rake more apparent which makes me think that the sites are shooting themselves in the foot with very short term business plans.
