|
|
Hi basically im on a bit of a downswing and as usual because of this being critical of myself and looking for leaks in my game
Yesterday i was playing a 9 seat $20+2 SNG with pocket 9s in the bb, it was folded round and the sb made it 600 at 200 blinds, I pushed my 99 and the sb had just over 1300 left behind, and if i lost this pot i was down to about 4.5bbs.
Blinds up to 300 at the next level and im on less than 10bbs if i dont build my stack before then so i took my chance. Was this a bad play as I had little or no fold equity? and i was most likely flipping, small chance im dominating, and a small chance im dominated? There were also still 6 players in this SNG.
Apolagies for not having the hand history but i am not currently on my own PC |

A bit hard to say without the HH, but sounds about ok. You sound a bit short stacked for the blind lvl and bether get lucky soon, so with a nice PP and a bet in front of you from the SB I say gogo.
Is it even posible to have Fold Equity at less than 10BB ?
Looking forward to see what others think. |

Sorry I will try to elaborate, I had around 2800, and the pfr had around 1930. He raised to 600, and I put him all in. Yes I believe you usually dont have fold equity with less than 10bbs, maybe if he made it 400-500 he would have some.
Yes with the blinds up to 300 next as was playing on absolute structure, I would soon be playing push/fold poker, and i might not see a better hand or oppurtunity than 99 to a possible steal raise again, so I seen this as an oppurtunity I must take, then when i loat the flip against AT, I began to second guess myself as usual |

I'd probably shove here too.
As far as the 10bb fold equity question is concerned. You have fold equity with 10bb in a SNG where the average stacks are likely to be in the range of 10-15bb and the bubble is probably right around the corner. |

| I don't think you can fold, you certainly shouldn't call, so that leaves us with shove and hope for the best. If you're "flipping" you're actually a slight favorite. I'd expect the SB to make this same play with any pair in this spot, which means that there are 7 smaller pairs and 5 bigger pairs (unlikely he has other two 9's). On balance I'd say your shove has a + EV so shove and let him have the "hard" decision to call all in. |
