This is my first time posting a HH and I know there are certain rules about not posting the results? If I do this wrong please correct me so that next time I do it right.
I believe I'm not suppose to show what I did. If the remainder is required please let me know and I will post the result..
thanks for any advise.
ok back to the tables.
Jae

This should be posted in the SNG section.
I raise more pre, and I begrudgingly get stack in after being raised on the flop. |

| No I don't think you can move it, but a mod probably will. |

| I raise to 180 pre, bet nearly pot on the flop and get it in vs a raise. |

| with 2 spades and all low cards you have to hope he is semibluffing on a spade draw or straight draw (more likely spade draw), but with KC1998 left to act after you he might have something like 9 with q,j or 10 kicker, or pair of 9's in his hand. but anyway between the smooth call of KC1998 and an all in from mauriciorubatto makes double the chances of one of them having 2 pair or trips already. the preflop action was pretty weak by the two opponents though so i wouldnt put either on aa, ak, qq, kk (same as your hand), aq probably not either.so folding makes since because even if you are lucky enough to not already be beat by one of them, one of them might draw out on you. 2 chances of already having the losing hand plus chance of being drawn out on means there are a lot of ways to lose. Pick a better spot. Youre bets were Ok because you can still get away from it if someone gets a monster. Side note I would probably call because its early in the tournament and I'm a donkey that looks like an elephant |

ok well it looks like the advise has run it's course and it seems I probably should have raised more on the pre-flop. (will keep that in mind next time). I raised 4X BB... should I have raised more because of the amount of limpers? I thought 3-4x BB was a normal raise for this hand? Any insite on this would be great.
The result was this...
I push all my chips in..
KC1998 folds...
mauriciorubatto(donkey for short) flips over 8,6 o/s
so at the flop he seems to think a pair of 6's w/ 8 kicker is a strong hand. Normally one would love this but we all know what is coming.
The remaining flop 9,6,3, 10, 7
so I end up with Pair of K's
mauriciorubatto ends up with a str8.
Needless to say I was pretty pissed... was down to about 320 chips or so.... managed to keep my cool even tho. I was pretty upset and finished 2nd behind mauriciorubatto who had most of my chips. LOL
Thanks for the advise guys |

General rule of thumb is 3xBB plus and additional BB for each limper but it is not set in stone.
I just tend to give it a bit more oomph if there are many limpers, like Adam says 180 here would work well.
The reason being is you want to have as few people in the hand with you after the flop as possible, your hand strength decreases the more players are in after the flop. The more players equals more cards out there that could possibly give you problems.

Lol. prolly had you figured for AK AJ or similar. That, or all the drool on his screen made it hard to see properly, still god-awful on his part.

This feels real bad but this is what you want to happen. (him putting all his chips in with poo, not him hitting his str8 obv.)
You got your money in good against a raving loony and got sucked out on, but this will not happen everytime, a lot of the time you will win this hand. Don't get discouraged by it and don't let the results dictate your play, you were unlucky here. Nothing more.

This is encouraging tho. coming back from a bad beat with next to no chips is a skill set all of its own. |

Thanks for the advise Ozzy... I'm still trying to figure how to use the damn forum so I can't seem to get my reply to look like yours... all broke down nice and neat...
So I'll just reply this way until I figure it out..
I never heard the additional BB per caller. It seems like sound advice and I plan on implamenting it into my game.
Your good! After the beating I took he wrote back to me saying he thought I had an A something and that I missed my flop... still think it was a donkey call on his part... "I may have called him a donkey at some point... not really sure... with how pissed I was. LOL"
I realize this is the kind of call we want and will win more often than not just sucks when it goes against you... I felt like I played it right but I wasn't sure... that is why I decided to post it... come to find out I really didn't and should have pushed harder pre-flop...
I was able to pull it together because I thought to myself... I still have 300+ chips... blinds are low and I can sit on a good hand. meanwhile they prob. think I'm desperate and settling for any decent hand... I made it a challenge to make it ITM... I actually wanted to beat his *** but it didn't happen... it was his 7,000 to my 2,000 chips... HU isn't my strong point. LOL I tried like hell tho...
Again Ozzy thanks for the sound advice and taking the time to give it. Can't wait to try the new additional BB advice.. Just another weapon that will hopefullly help me...

You played it correct you were just destin to bust there. Chip stacks in sngs are not deep enough at that point to get away from the hand and you can't respect those players enough to think your behind |
