Hello Everyone,
Fraud has been getting on me a lot of about the Players Transaction section, so I have to shut it down. I always wanted to keep it, but if it became too much trouble to handle, we would close it.
Sorry,
TilterRick |

TR,
I can only assume you left this thread open for comments. As someone who has done some trades in the past, I really appreciated having the added security of the forum, and especially the rules. I pretty much have people who I can trade with now, that I trust because of previous trades, but the added security has always been very welcome.
Is there no way you can just security protect this section so that only people with a certain post-count ( not spamming of course) could access it. I think this would by far be a better resolution. |

| TR, this is a really bad news for many honest traders there. clamper13 has done a great job to prevent frauds. In most case, people got scammed due to their failure to follow clamper's rules. Is it the case that it will NOT be allowed to post a trade request anywhere in this forum from now on? |

| It also means for people like me to stop playing on Full Tilt. |

| This is terrible news. Guess I'll have to switch to the 2+2 trade thread now. |

Kiwi ran a poll on this a while ago, and I voted in favour of keeping both Transactions and Rail Requests. I'm now pretty convinced Rick's done the right thing though, as the small convenience value the Transactions section added to the forum regs has become heavily outweighed by the immense hassle created by scammers and imbeciles. And imagine it from Rick's (or even the site's) point of view. What do they get out of it? Nothing but a pain in the bottom. (Mods please delete the word bottom if necessary).
KronX and Hunny Bunny will vouch for me on this: I never used to be as aggressive towards idiots as I am now. I only started shouting at people in the Transactions section, because stupidity there puts other people at risk. Not sure the judge in my assault trial will accept that as a mitigating factor, but hey. Good riddance, I say. |

Oh well.
I felt the good and honest trades were out weighing the bad.
Thanks to all the regs that helped out with the section, especially Clamper13. |

| 100 post minimum would have gotten rid of 99% of the scammers/victims too |

| Sorry to hear that it closed. Even though I spent a lot of time in that section I understand why it would need to be closed. And I agree with drift, do not let Clamper and his talent go. He is a great asset for this site. |

I was thinking the same requirements as requesting a BAP. |

I've traded quite a bit here and on 2+2. On more than one occasion, I have said that the FTP transactions forum was the safest place to trade.
Clamper13 worked tirelessly to help out all the legit traders. Also a group of forum regulars filled in nicely whenever they were needed.
I understand the decision but can't help feeling that the scamming will be worse and just moved to less supervised sites. |

+1
I definitely always preferred this forum to conduct trades. There are a solid core of traders that were very trustworthy, IMO. In addition, there were many others who regularly scrutinized trades and people requesting trades who prevented many fraudulent transfers.
I can't praise Clamper13 enough: he is relentless in his attempts to make this forum a safer place for people to trade. Thanks for all of your hard work clamper13. |
