the short stack moved in and i just wanted to raise a little to get at least one caller and the small blind calls. on the flop he bets the minimum and i'm think that with a player all in this guy must have a big hand like two pair or a set. also i'm thinking he may just be a donkey and have like ace ten so i move in and i know he's gonna call. okay so the set of nines has a 4.5% chance to hit the nine and the short stack has 9.1% chance to hit runner runner. i don't even care if that guy hits runner runner cuz it will only cost me 90 chips. i wanted that otehr dudes chips. okay so short stack has no chance anymore and the set of nines has a 2.4% chance, and HEY! what do you know he hit the funking miracle.

I'm just glad it was only the second level, but then again that has been my day all day.

I understand you want action, but a bigger raise preflop may have gotten the nines to fold.

why would i want nines to fold? he's more than a 3-1 underdog.

If you didn't want him to fold, then why are you complaining?

I also wouldn't say this was a "bad beat" perse.

A tough beat yes, but honestly, he didn't make a bad call.

okay if you have pocket aces and you are scared of someone calling with an underpair then quit poker. i didn't know he had nines but he has to call me with at least a pair or a good ace, maybe king queen. the guy hadn't played a hand yet so he was only calling with something good. hell no he didn't make a bad call. i could have easily of had ace king i would have called with a set of nines in a heartbeat. he got unluck to run into my set of aces but don't you say it isn't a bad beat when a guy hits a case nine to beat me.

Bad Beat: A bad beat is a loss in which the losing player had the better odds on the winning player earlier in the hand. In general, the term is used when all the chips go in the pot when the losing player had odds. To take a bad beat means to be on the losing end of a bad beat

i had overwhelming odds to win the pot over this guys which means it was a TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, ODACIOUS BAD BEAT! don't tell me that someone hitting a one outer isn't a bad beat.
