I play a lot of tourneys and its the maniac players who ruin the game by knocking me or you out from them catching miracle cards. If they dont knock me or you out what happens is they give other players such huge chip leads its nearly impossible to compete.
It's so bad now that I have stopped playing poker, who knows maybe for good.
It's become a real problem even in the big money tounaments so much so that many pro's are no longer playing big name tournaments. |

I still see a lot of pros in big name tournaments. I don't think some maniac players will cause a professional to change the course of their career. They play poker as livelihood, and play they shall. |

| I love the maniacs. Sure, they can be frustrating, but most of the time they give me the massive chip lead! |

| For every time you get busted by a maniac and lose your buy in, think about the times your hand held up and those chips from the maniac put you in to position go very far and cash in the tournament. I doubt professionals are going to quit playing tournaments because they must now deal with maniacs in the field. |

I would say the opposite is true...many pros who previously confined themselves to cash games are now hitting the tournament trail because of all of the dead money in the field, they now figure to be getting a nice overlay on their entry. Barry Greenstein has gone that route with considerable success, as have others. |

| If people who knock you out "ruin" the game for you, you're just not cut out to play poker, I think. |

I agree, sometimes that's just how the cards fall and that's what makes the game work in the first place, some people just can't handle bad beats, the best of us just crawl back up and sit back in the chair the next day and hope to minimize those situations.
