OK - Thanks - what about a check/raise?

i wouldn't do it, but some would because it puts you in control of the hand. The problem with a c/r is that you gain almost no information.

Somebody holding a lone king there is gonna fold when a 3rd diamond hits and you suddenly come alive.

If you're betting the whole on the draw (1/3 to 1/2 of the pot), people might put you on 2nd pair or a weak king and stay with you the whole hand even if the 3rd diamond falls. It's easier to get paid off, and as long as you don't overbet your draw, you are running a good play. By betting half the pot, you are giving yourself 2 to 1 to win, which is the odds of you making your flush by the end of the hand.

There are times that betting your draw is a bad idea, you just have to play lots of hands and see how they pan out for you to figure out the best course of action.

Actually, you're giving yourself 3:1 if you get a call.

I was wondering what some of the more experienced/knowledgeable players think of betting a flush draw out of position into 4 players.

Example: 9 handed, .25/.50. in the BB, 4 limp you have Q Diamond 7 Diamond and check. the flop 10 Diamond 4 Diamond K Club .

Would it be right to see if you can buy it right there? Or since your out of position, check and see what happens?

Thanks for the input.

At the smaller limits, it seems that most everyone plays Ax suited to the river if they have a 4 flush. I am not going to spend a lot of money on this hand when I would be drawing to what could be the third best flush. In Limit I would probably see the river if the betting was weak, but not in no limit.

For exmple, you catch your Diamond on the river and small blind puts you all in, or one of the other players puts you all in after you bet at the pot. Can you still put all of your chips in the pot at that point. I don't think I could.

In my opinion, there will be other oportunities to get your money involved in a much more favorible situation.
