Now, I wasn't too upset, given the chip situation, but if this had happened to me going against a player with a big stack, it would have been tough to handle.

The only way that my opponent can win here is to hit 4 diamonds on the board, and darn it, that's what he did... Shocked

Similarly, a friend of mine was playing in a $50 buy-in tourney in Louisville. He got down to heads-up, top prize was like $2,200 while 2nd was maybe $1,400, and he got ousted on AK vs. AK (both all-in preflop) when four suited cards hit the board. He still got a nice payday, and handled a tough beat much better than I would have.

I once saw an all in hand in my live game where two people were all in with AQ. One was suited, the other wasn't. Sure enough, the one who wasn't suited made a flush. My buddy was kinda pissed at me for that one...

I have been the benficiary of a straight flush against an ace-high flush, so I can attest it happens! 8) I was first to act and checked, after which one of my best friends obligingly led out with his ace-high flush--said he never saw the straight flush coming. Not only that, but a player behind him called with two pair (!) before I moved in with the nuts. Took me from survival mode to chip lead and sent me on my way to winning the prestigious 2004 Clarksville Invitational. Very Happy

I flopped a straight flush in my live game once. My opponent flopped the nut flush. We both checked the flop. He bet on the turn, I raised, and he raised all in. I was only too happy to call...

That reminds me of the time i had a suited Ace of spades, and the board contained 3-5-7 of spades with no pairs...my opponent held 46 of spades as i went all in. Not on full tilt though.

Here was one of the best bad beats I've ever seen:

B: Jc Tc

Flop: 7c 8d 9d

Of course, the two players went all-in, both with the nuts, and one with straight flush and flush redraw possibilities. Can you guess what cards came?

Turn: 7c 8d 9d Ac

River: 7c 8d 9d Ac 5c
