Just got knocked out of a tourney early on. There was a small raise by a short stack in front of me. I am sittin on AKs so i push all in. There ends up being 4 players all in. AA vs KK vs AKs vs 99. Of course the 9 hits the flop with the other 4 cards being blank and 2 people are busted out and the AA crippled to 400 chips. I'd love to see this exact situation played by 9 pros to see how it would have happened, and if all 4 would have still been all in. Im not very good at the HH or I would post it.

Well, unless you had a short stack, I don't think you should've seen the flop in that hand. Just make a normal re-raise, then you can fold with all that action behind you.

i agree riddim, it is never good to call an all in with AK in a tournament (especially with all that action, i mean at BEST u r a slight dog. u cant think someone would push AQ or AJ so strong so the hands u r likely against r AA or KK which u r dominated. even if they have QQ or JJ u r calling all ur chips as an underdog) I would much rather push. and as far as pros go i believe the only hands that would have been in that were KK and AA depending on which pros held which hands ofcourse as there are some very loose and aggressive pros out there as well.

I did push first. the KK made a 4x bet with it being early was 200 to call. i was next to act so I pushed all in to isolate my hand or just pick up pot. the 99 pushed all in, with less chips then me, the AA pushed all in with most chips at table and then KK went all in as well as 2nd in chips. Maybe i didnt clarify better early.

I know that you pushed, but unless you had a short stack, I think a regular re-raise would've been better, since that would have allowed you to get away from your hand. Unless I'm getting a bit short, I usually don't like to get all my chips in with A-K early in a tourney, even if I'm the one pushing.

I see, well in this case i guess it depends on ur read on the initial raisor, i.e. tight player, lay it down. how early of position was he? UTG lay it down, how many chips did u have at that time? since u did the pushing i guess it is just a tuff situation to run in to. however if u r in early-middle position then pushing all in here i do not like that much than if u were in later position. level of play is a factor as well. we could dissect this in many different ways but fact of the matter is, u probably just ran into an unfortunate situation. It was possible to stay out of but what the hell. next time u do that everyone folds and u pick up a nice pot. better luck next time. good luck to you
