hello everyone, just joined the site yesterday and have found it to be an excellent site so far. i am presently palying on three other sites, pp, ps, and ub, have been playing on those sites for about a year now. i average approxiamatly 4500 hands on each site each month. i play alot of single sng and multi table sng and tournaments. i have been very sucessfull in my sng play, usually average in the money about 75% of the time. however, my tournament play has not been so good. i usually make it to the top 20% but very rarely make it to the money part. my stratagy for tournament play is the same as i use on my sng play. i have bought several books and read and re-read them all. i just can't seem to make it to the money on tournaments. Has anyone got any suggestions on what i can read to help my play. i saw something about a dvd from one of the pro's but i dont know where to order it.
thanks and hope to play with you all in the future Rolling Eyes

Getting to the top 20% is useless in MTT play. Since usually only the top 10% makes any money, finishing in the top 1/5th is like finishing last. You should play a little bit more aggressive early on. Yes, you'll finish in the bottom 20% more often, but you will have more chips when you DO make it to the top 20%. Usually, you're playing tight, doubling up here or there, but you're shortstacked when it gets close to the money. You're better off with a big stack near the money, even if it means going out near the bottom of the pack often.

thanks griphold on. you are right i do play very conservative in the begining of my sng and mtsng and tourneys. i have only been keeping track since the first of this month. i have palyed in 12 single table sng usually at the 5 and 10 level and have placed in the money 9 times. as far as mutl table sng, i have played in 6 two table and placed in the money 4 times and have played 5 three table sng and placed in the money 3 times. Most of the tourneys i enter usually have anywere from
800-2000 entries. the best i have done so far this month was in the tourney with 2000 entries i finished in at 201

does anybody know the dvd i am asking about, i saw it mentioned in one of the posts i read the other day and now i can't find it. it was done by one of the pro's at this site. i would like to get it if anyone can tell me who it was by and where i can order it.

thank you

I'm gonna beat Urban to the punch here, and say that 12 sng's are a sample that is so small as to be useless for statistics. Something closer to 500 is teh start of a good sample size.
