I read a post where a person wants the entry fee raised up to $25k if not to $50k, and I thought what a stupid idea. The whole point of the series is that anyone (middle class) could enter and have a chance to become a millionaire.
Don't make the series an event only the rich can afford!!!
I don't want to see the players driving up in limo's with fans roped off a hundred feet away like they are for hollywood movie stars.
Keep the enrty fees as they are!!

it was in an article in the magazine 'All In.' i cant remember the pro. but later in the article he recanted his statement. i also cant remember if he was a previous winner or not. he was basically saying that and this is a total paraphrase and my recollection, but something along the line of too many 'maniacs' bust out the pros.

Embarassed Misred question, voted for the wrong one. I think it should be affordable

If they raise it they may not be able to have pros involved. As some of you may remember the late Stu Unger had to borrow the 10k entry fee for his last WSOP(which he won). It shouldn't be raised because then it becomes the rich guy who wants to gamble's game. I think you get more action from halfway decent people then from the rich ones willing to risk it all for sport.

I have changed my mind. I like keeping it at 10K. I do hope that they introduce a new tournament though, with a very large buy-in, just as slow a structure, and consequently, the world's best poker players.

This could be accomplished by having an invitational only tournament with say a $100k buy-in for like the top 50 or so pro's.
