Playing heads up, if you are first to act is it ever correct to complete the bet or is it always better to limp and preserve the option for a reraise. Also is it then often right to limp behind when you have similar up cards to see 4th street or do people usually complete the bet or fold.
I guess I am looking for input on some general 3rd street strategy playing heads up. |

Point #1. No, don't limp with the intent to re-raise. Razz is a stealing game and your re-raising for value on 3 cards. Besides, the question makes no sense. If you are heads up against the bring-in how are you going to induce a raise?
Don't play razz heads up. Heads up Razz is for Sick people. |

| Heads-up razz is a lot of fun. And usually you want to just go ahead and complete if you have a good hand. Otherwise your opponent may just flat call and you will have a tough decision on 4th because you didn't complete and give your opponent a chance to fold. By completing you get more info about what he holds. |

| Heads up, most of the time you are looking to steal with a better looking board. If you hold A27 and you opponent holds a three and you think he is going to steal, limp and re raise. If he tends to fold a lot of hands and you have a marginal hand, then complete. |

There is little value in limp re-raising. Too many times your going to let your opponant get in cheaply and catch good on 4th while you catch bad. You need to get a clearer picture of your opponants hand early in Razz. In razz your hand can turn to crap so fast. Razz is not like hold'em where you can limp with the intent to re-raise with strong hands. In hold'em, your hand maintains its intrinsic strength most of the time -- you may be beaten, but your hand still maintains value. In Razz, your hand can become unplayable.
Limp re-raising gives your opponant an opportunity to steal on 4th.
I'm even finding it hard to believe that limping for deception has much value. |
