Immediately, i said "Genova, why did you just call...........with the nuts." After a few minutes, he replied with "wanted others to come in". I thought it was hilarious and decided i would share the humor. |

Yeah guys, it's a horrible move to call with the nuts when you have every reason to believe that you'll get no extra money from raising and others behind you might call and/or raise to bluff.
Yup... horrible move indeed. I hate money. How about you guys? |

By the way the hand was played, and the nature of that limit, I'd say that a raise would have been very appropriate. At that limit, there are very little bluff attempts. The turn was checked around, implying little interest by the other players in the hand. On the river, one player already checkd, and the Q-high flush did bet out, implying interest in the hand. With this, he probably wanted to raise a small amount, which would have probably been called.
Just my 2 cents. |

The person that called with the nuts believed that he wasn't going to make more money by raising, and there's probably a good reason. In fact, you touched on it. It's the "nature of the limit." That nature is a very weak-tight nutpeddling attitude, and there's nothing in the betting this round to dissuade from that particular image. If you raise, there's no guarantee that the Q high flush calls here at these levels. After all, you just said there are "very little bluff attempts." Hell he didn't even have the heart in him to bet half the pot as a feeler/interest bet.
At higher levels I'd raise that all day long. At lower levels and a weak table, the only way I'm making more money here is to go for the overcall. |
