So the story goes like this. My first time in Vegas playing poker, and really my first time playing for any serious money. I started with 500 for the whole long weekend. My first night I played for 14 str8 hours and won a cool 1300 bones. My last night in Vegas I decided to see if I could push it up to 3 or 4 K by playing at the 5-10 NL game where before i was playing 2-5. I immedietly pretty much double up by hitting a set and I am cruisin. There was one guy @ the table with about 5K in front of him and i had everyone else covered by at least 2 X. This dude is playing super aggressive and I know he is bluffing these guys out of the pots. Finally we have a confrontation, i am in the BB and he has the button. He has been raising every pot to at least 50 before the flop and he does the same here. I got AK of spades, so i assume i got the best hand and come over the top for another 100, he does some intimidation tactics by asking how much i had, but ends up calling. Flop comes 10-J-Q with the Q of spades. I lead out with a 200 dollar bet, knowing i had the best hand, he instantly raises it to 600, i smooth call instead of reraising. The next card comes the 8 of Spades, so now i got the nut str8 with the ace high flush draw. I check and he bets 1000, now at this point i am pretty much convinced that he also has AK and is trying to bet me out of the pot, but i got the flush draw so once again smooth call his ass. the last card comes down the 9 of spades and i check again, hoping he would put me all in for my last 700, which he does, i call and the mofo flips over the 10-J of spades, FREAKIN str8 flush. The messed up part was that he knew i had the AK and still bet on the flop and the turn trying to hit a boat, and instead he ends up with that. In hidsight i should have moved in after the flop aNd he would have had to fold, but my inexperience and greed got the better of me.. Sweet hand though, eh?

That is a crazy hand. If it happened to me I don't even think I would believe it. I think I would go home and post here about how Vegas is rigged.

If you thought he had AK as well, then you should have went all in on the turn. If the spade came on the river (and he had AK as well) he may get away from his hand in fear of the flush. Anyway, tough hand.
