Why won't people help me start a limit game, high only.
It's a completely different animal to hi-lo.
Looks like bingo but has deceptive skill in it.
Hard to master but profitable when you get the hang of it.
Please people come and leave your avatar with mine and maybe we can get a full game going. |

| Limit hi has way too much variance for most people to tolerate. I like playing Limit Hi, but generally play on party poker because that's where the most game selection is. |

Dunno about that - far less variance than PLO or, heaven forbid, NL... |

Well, he asked how come people won't start a limit omaha-hi game. Then he went to say how it's different than hi-lo, and is a different animal. There's no comparison between the two in terms of variance, especially short-handed. Obviously a game where you could put more of your stack at stake is going to produce a naturally higher variance by default.
Think about how many people complain about chasing/suckouts in Limit HE games. Multiply that by about 30 and that's the typical limit Omaha hi table. Then when you stop and consider the fact that the people chasing are making the correct plays, it's enough to make a lot of people head for the PL or NL variants of Omaha hi.
That's mainly why people may play limit hi-lo, where they could split, and less games of limit hi are played. |
