When you see my advice, follow this rhyme:
You should read it,
You should heed it,
If you don't you'll later need it.
In other words, it's not our fault that the pros don't post on these forums frequently. We still try to help you out, especially when the pros will not. You don't have to take our advice, we aren't as knowledgable as the pros, but some of us DO know a lot. Take it or leave it, but better to have the option of taking it or not, than not having it at all. |

I've had pros answer my questions... maybe the problem is that most of the questions asked there are stupid, and not even worth my time, let alone a pro's.
Or maybe they just don't like you. |

And I would say the a great majority of the questions center around the fish and maniacs sucking-out on everyone else. Mainly people whining about losing a particular hand. Why would a pro waste his/her time on stroking some guy's hurt feelings.
To their credit, I've seen Howard Lederer, Phil Gordon and Chris Ferguson all answer posts, as long as the questions were relevant. Their answers are usually short and sweet and to the point.
You can get a lot of information, training and expert advice from Zuchov, GripHoldOn, and UrbanMyers. These guys put a lot of time and thought into their emails and their generousity with the information can greatly improve your game.
Just because someone isn't famous or on TV doesn't mean that they can't be helpful. Stop chasing celebrities if you really want to learn. The "virtual mentors" are here and are great to have around.

| Totally Agree.....People have poker coaches.....and most of them aren't famous, or ever been on TV. But they are very helpful. |

The pros answer questions all the time. Andy block has replied to me 3 times and he has been very helpful. Erik Seidel just repsonded to a couple of posts and Howard Lederer is in there all the time too. They do actually still play poker, there not forum moderators now. They're not going to be there to answer your question the minute you write it so give them some slack. We are all very lucky they answer at all. By helping us they make the game that much harder for themselves. The more players who know how to play and how they play the harder it is for them to make money. So let's thank them for doing it at all.
Thank you Pros. |

i think anyone deemed as a pro on this site has to be worthy of that status, they obviously win quite a bit of money
just b/c you dont see them winning 1st place in these recent tournaments on TV doesnt make them not a pro |
