Ultimate Bet
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $1./$2.
8 players
Pre-flop: (8 players) Matt2411 is Button with 4 3
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Matt2411 calls, SB calls, BB checks.
Flop: K A 2 ($10, 5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, Matt2411 checks.
Wanted a free card here, as i only have a gutshot... well not really a gutshot but only a 5 completes my straight
Turn: 7 ($10, 5 players)
SB checks, BB bets $5, 2 folds, Matt2411 raises to $15, SB folds, BB calls.
Bet seemed like a flush draw here, or maybe a weak PP, or a weak K, so i raised it up sensing weakness. Immediately after i raised it i regretted the small raise that i made, i should have made it $20 instead of 15, 15 was still giving him odds... but really i thought i could take the hand down, that bet OOZED weakness
River: 4 ($40, 2 players)
BB checks, Matt2411 bets $30, BB calls.
His check made me think yes he was on a draw or had a weak king again, he had been relatively tight seeing 17% of the flops and had he had AQ he would have bet on the flop, AK definitely raises before the flop and/or on the flop, so maybe a weak draw, or a mid PP maybe? Betting really confused me here. I felt a good sized bet would take it down.
Results:
Final pot: $100
Critique my read please. (showdown in white shown below)
Showdown:
matt2411 shows 4c 3c.
matt2411 has 4c Kh Ac 7c 4h: a pair of fours.
sideout31 shows Jh Ad.
sideout31 has Jh Ad Kh Ac 7c: a pair of aces.
Hand #31044395-1881 Summary:
$3 is raked from a pot of $100.
sideout31 wins $97 with a pair of aces.

Against the same guy...now the question is, can i toss it on the river? I CANNOT get a read on him, none of his plays have made sense to date.

My thought process on this hand is what would he limp call with preflop, check call on the flop, check, then bet on the river? I limited the hands down to AQ, MAYBE KQs, maybe JTs, 99, 88, or 67s(maybe).
I was close to folding on the river because i cant see anything that i beat that plays this way... unless its 67s, AQ, or KQ
thoughts? |
