Uh, even if there were bots...and they did work...
That doesn't mean they KNOW which cards are coming or have anyway of cheating during a game. It'd just be the program making the decisions during a hand, instead of a player.
That doesn't make them OK to use or anything. I just thought I'd clarify. |

I'm a mole. I contacted the ICM bot company about buying it using a player transfer.
Hi xxxxxx,
Thank you for visiting the site and for your interest in ICM-Bot. We limit the amount of FTP transfers we can take each week, just to keep any money/transferring activity at a minimal, so not to arouse any questioning by full tilt. We will be able to accept more within about 2 days. We will e-mail you immediately when we will be accepting transfers again, and give you further instructions if you are interested. We usually use different accounts that aren't associated with the bot in order to keep things safe.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Take care,
Michael

you really think a bot would be profitable if they made plays like these?
nice work boynamedsue, surely they can see which accounts link from which IP address etc or that exact amount being transferred they should close all those accounts immediately. i dont know, there has to be a way to sniff them out. |

Rocky,
some general info about bots:
unless you're doing LHE @ the micros, these bots are probably beatable.
i rilly don't think you're gonna see NLHE bots in cash games [even multi-tabling] @ less than 50.00 max.
as for super-turbo sng's, OTOH, the profit is made off action junkies.
A BOT COULD DO WELL THERE. hell, i might do well there, if i was patient enuf.
i'm fortunate that way, creating a stud/stud-8/razz bot requires more than lookup tables... try add-on PCI cards w/ multiple dsp's to run real time simulations, as well as interface w/ the CPU. It's doable,
they make these PCI cards [for real-world engineering purposes], but how much stud action is out there anywayz?
Stars uses CAPTHCAS 2 detect bots [i know, they used one on me once in a dimer turny when i pre-action-folded about 10-12 crap hands in a row.
to be honest, except for draw[which can be painfully sloooow], i've never
never been a fan of turbo sng's. I prefer to be a nit. And I am currently
out-performing NASDAQ, NYSE, Nikkei, pretty much every1 except Durrr
and Leatherass.
Rocky, the best current-day bots are probably at the level of the average
.05/.10 weekend player [and I'm probably being nice]. I also think it's ethically wrong 2 use them, some people are just that lazy or sleazy and don't care.
I can assure you Rocky, it will be 10-15+ years b4 u see a bot @
final table in the sunday million. That bot will probably be able to negotiate itself a good chop, but unless it can get to the top 3 or 4 left,
it will be pawned by lowly humans. They're a long way from mastering
info processing from HUD's, properly manipulating bet sizes, etc, for NLHE. |
