I found it funny that they blame the global economy for their closing. They're closing because their "skill based" version of poker isn't very good. I applaud their wanting to provide US players with a legal (legal as in they are located in the US, and US players can deposit using credit card) version of holdem, but it was just too weird. Poker is cool, duplicate poker is not.
Hopefully something good comes from S.B. 3616, the Internet Skill Games Licensing and Control Act of 2008 proposed by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and all poker games can be considered games of skill, under the law. |

I didn't try it because it sounded so bad. And I hated their commercials.
Oh and Bob Menendes is my senator. I feel special.

| Maybe it works in Bridge (I don't know the rules of Bridge), but it's a terrible idea for poker. You get the same lucky breaks as your opponent at the other table, so any difference is due to skill. Say you both have 2-7 offsuit. He folds pre-flop, and you shove. Flop comes down 7-7-2, and you crush that pre-flop folding wimp! If he had your mad poker skillz, he would have taken advantage of the lucky break when it came along. |

i liked the idea. problem in my oppinion was that it was far too easy to collude there. also some management decisions i didnt understand; like: why no moneybookers?
@highkey: great example. play 100 hands and win with folding the 2-7. it works like poker: on the long run. and on every client you have lucky donkeys who crush your KK with 89off eventually... thats no result of the duplicatepoker-gameidea itself...
yeah well... lets hope they cash out properly! =0 |

| I tried it once. It was terrible, and I'm not surprised at all they closed. It was a colluders paradise, the software sucked, and their Customer Support was awful, iirc. |
