I want to share the worst bad beat I have ever had so I can get this of my chest lol. I was in a $69 + $6 $9,000 Guarantee when there was about 30 people away from gettin into the money. I needed to make a move because I was starting to get low in chips. I was dealt A 3 and the small blind was on me. There were four people in the pot so I decided to call the blind and see a flop. The flop was (J A 3) so I decided to raise the pot amount. Three out of the four folded and one called. The turn was a (3) so I decided to just go ahead and push all of my chips. Since I had a full house. They guy quickly called me and we saw eachother's cards. I showed my full house three's full of aces and he showed his pocket queens. I was excited to see when he showed the queens because I knew his chances were at the slimmest. When the river came IT WAS A QUEEN! I couldnt belive my eyes. He started laughing and said why did you go all in? I told him you just gave me the worst bad beat of my life. He said whatever thats not a bad beat just mere skill!!!!!!!!!! |

Yup, that's a bad beat cause you were about 95% to win with one card to come. No skill involved there... calling an all in with QQ and an ace on the board, not to mention a pair.
It's like when you're driving and someone cuts you off and you get really pissed off for a second. But then if they give you a friendly wave as if to say "thanks for letting me in", all your anger fades away. A wave goes a long way. I've never been at all upset about a bad beat if the player acknowledges it, even with a friendly "hey, that's poker", or "sorry, bad beat", or "boy, I sure lucked out". When people try to call that crap skill that's the equivalent of a driver cutting you off and then flicking you off. |

I took a similar bad beat the other night. Luckily it was in a WSOP freeroll, so no harm done. I was dealt 22 and flopped a set. I think the flop was something like Q82. My opponent bet the pot, so I moved all-in, and he called. He shows TT. The turn comes Q32(3), and the river comes Q323(3). It was the 2nd worst beat I've ever taken.
Pocket 2's hate me. I've lost several big pots when flopping a set of 2's. |

| Ok, I was playing in a tournament and it was down to heads up and my opponent and I were nearly equal in chips, he had a few thousand more than I did. I was dealt an 8 5 in the big blind and my opponent limped in. The flop came out 8 5 8 and I checked to him. He made a normal sized bet and I made a small raise. He immediately went all-in and I called instanly. My opponent showed a K 9. No flush draw, nothing. I was extremely excited because I knew I would surely win the tournament after the hand. Not exactly. The turn and the river were both 9's, giving him a higher full house. That is a bad beat |
