I've decided to play around with NL vs. my normal fixed limit game. (Yes for all u conspiricy theorists I only like "fixed" games in which I win because of the rig) The Jesus Exp. has pulled me in.
Just like the previous post, I had been folding mostly, but no steal attempts on my part so I have a tight table image. I wouldn't say I have an aggressive table image because I haven't involved myself in a hand to show my aggression. The VILLAIN wasn't involved in any pots except for his blind and I wasn't seeing any aggression out of him either. Seat 3 was aggressive but was doing it with good hands--I had seen him play K8o when he tabled a checked river in a 4 way pot but he hadn't played that aggressively--not that it matters too much because you can see that he folds.
Please let me know your thoughts after the flop and what you would do in this case.

I try not to get involved with these hands, you barely caught a piece of the flop, but to a min bet...I may take a peak at the turn card for 10 cents.

Min bet is pretty weak. Maybe he is on a flush draw and is betting in hopes of getting a freebie on the turn. Whatever he has, he is not trying very hard to protect it. You might actually have the best hand on the flop.

I said to just dump because you're out of position with a very marginal hand, and a very weak draw. Why fight over an unraised pot without a hand?

Fold? FOLD! Out of the question! You can't fold this hand. Are you crazy? I would raise the BB $.50. It is CLEAR that you MUST have the best hand. He OBVIOUSLY has AK. BB is obviously minimum betting to force you out of the pot. Hell, $.50? Screw $.50! Reraise him ALL IN!! That will show BB that you arn't going to be pushed around! Screw him! I would take his minimum raise as a PERSONAL OFFENSE! Tell him that you're not going to accept his bullying tactics anymore! See if he pulls this nonsense during the next orbit. In fact, I would go one step further. I would rec.............

I'd first wonder why you'd bother to play 74o. Even in the SB, the hand sucks and you're out of position. You have to be able to think you can outplay your opponents for this to be worth-while.
That being said, re-raise pot and try to take the hand here. The min bet means that he could have as little as a 3, and is just trying to make sure no one buys him out of the pot. You could release this to a 3-bet, and re-evaluate on the turn if it's just a call. |

As someone said, preflop I called from the SB because I figured people would fear my pwnage so the limp would not be raised by the BB. OK Ok, maybe that isn't all true (or true at all) I based this decision upon how tight passive the BB seemed to be so far (like I mentioned at the beginning of the thread). So it goes like this, I limp getting 5 to 1 in the SB because I believe most of the time the BB will check here except in the rare circumstances where he has one of a few hands, QQ-AA. Not to mention since the guy behind him had been winning and tabling good hands, I think BB plays most hands passively preflop here making a good case for the preflop limp from the SB.
On the flop, if he makes any sort of hand, he puts in a much larger raise rather than invite people in to call .10 to win .35 -- any legitimate draw would call there so I don't put him on a hand he is trying to protect (someone kinda mentioned that in the thread). Therefore, it is more likely that he has the same pair as me or bottom pair and most likely a draw of some sort even as weak as an overcard draw. I personally put him on a straight draw but we'll never know. When he folded I put him on bottom pair putting out a feeler bet which could not withstand a raise--but again we'll never know. Just my thoughts at the time feel free to comment.

I usually raise minimum bets from weak players unless I completely miss the flop.
