I have been observing something.......these days I'm making it to the money often than before but I want to reach that highly paid spots more often than not. I'm usually left as the short stack by the time I'm ITM. Can someone advice me on how to be playing from there ? pls don't jsut say play aggressive. Tell me what is aggressive and what all should I be pushing. |

Yesterday, though was profitable hasn't been a gud day for cash games. I was soooo hungry to accumulate the FTP's and played like a real DONK ....I have been hating myself for starting the cash games that late in the day. Started playing the cash games after the tournament - limit - which took forever and paid me 126 or something.
Bought in to 4 different tables coz I still needed a gazillion FTP's to make it to 100 points. Bought in for $10 on each and then started playing minimal hands because I wanted to be in the hand...and then you know the image you get at the table......Lost all of the money and was still around 10 points behind and 15 minutes left for the day...In order to reach that 10 points quick bought in at a 1/2 for $40 bucks (so STUPID of me) and shipped it over to another DONK....and at last reached the 100 FTP mark. But lost $80 on the way.
If anyone of you are in such a situation what do you do? (more ftp's needed to meet the status and only half and hour left in the day?)
I know --- I'm sorry (to everybody) for playing at the higher stakes which I shouldn't have. |

| There's an easy fix to the whole Iron Man thing; don't worry about it. If you have to struggle to get enough points, wait until you don't have to anymore. It's of very marginal value unless you're a high volume player anyway, so you're not losing out on much. |

You do know you dont have to be involved in the hand to receive points. Just need to be dealt cards.
Big +1 to what riddim said. |

I was at 60 FTPs at 11 PM and then I thought of my classes and work pressure increasing by 20th of this month ..so I won't be able to put in more hours ...so jsut wanted to make it to the 100 points 20 days mark to get silver by then and so I went all in for the 100 point FTP ... mark only to realize it was such a dumb move.
Thanks riddim n st6truckie! |

Fell below $500 for the first time since 1st Sep......Sittign at $475 now ...no satellite tokens tooo
My status at poker listings has changed from calling station to BOMB...if at all that matters a little I'm assuming it is GOOD
One other thing I'm observing is ...while playing tourneys....I usually start off well...and then IT happens...one hand....usually a big one...to crush me ...and then my STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL begins
People say keep pots smaller.....how do we do that? |

Have you had a chance to look at the book: "The Theory of Poker"? It might help answer some of your questions...including the one quoted above. |

The last few days have been worse than any in September.... Everyday I sit on a table ....cash ...-25/.50 or the SNG's I'm getting out empty handed feeding somebody or the other. Either I'm playing on tilt or I'm playing bad.
There have been almost 16-17 SNG's since Friday that I haven't cashed...and I cashed one yesterday evening .... The bankroll has been diminishing and I've moved down to .10/25 levels and even there I'm losing.
I still remember how fuming I was Sunday...I guess I should wait a week or at least a couple of days without playing.
Current Account Balance: $288 +1 $26 satellite token.
I suck.
A question: So, if we win satellite tokens ...can't we register to a $24+2 tournament and unregister to get tournament dollars ? I'm getting back the satellite token. |

First off you are severly underolled for 50NL. BR should be min $1000 but more like $1500 for this level. Second no you will not get tourney money if you unregister from tourney when you used a token to enter. |

I just cannot frigging hit my AK and my PP never hold up !
I am a realist and I know what I'm talking.
I just don't know what to do. The cards all are falling against me.
I stand in a very good position in a tournament and then it happens.
If I have a pp and there's only one other player left in the pot...I raise and if he calls with two over cards he for sure hits it and wins the pot.
If I have AK, AQ, AJ A10 and some body else goes all in with a PP...I never don't make it by the river.
I'm just tired and am getting sick of this.
This is happening so many times:cry:
I am starting to hate playing. I mean I thought it was my bad game play but then when you check back the hand histories and you see these hands are there so many places......you get sick. |
