| Hi I play mostly $5 sngs and all the $26 MTT I've played over 1k $5 sngs this month, and im only up $167, despite cashing the 17k gt one night for $700+. My ROI in the sngs is only like 2%, I rarely get in coin flips early and I either get sucked out on or bubble out. I cash in about 33% of sngs, andd suggestions? Just looking to build a bankroll. Thanks |

| I locked 4 other posts. Something with a little more suggestive of a title might entice people to look. Since you're talking about SnG play, I've left this one open and tweaked your title. |

It's hard to say what the problem may be just based on your ROI and ITM%, but on the bright side at least you have a positive ROI. You should play tight abc poker for at least the 1st 3 blind levels. If you're like me it gets tempting to see some flops with certain hands. The way I keep myself under control is to play 4 tables at once. This automatically make me play tighter early on. Starting with the 4th level start playing a few more hands, and raise or fold pre-flop. If you already play this way then most likely you are making mistakes near the bubble (4 or 5 players left).
You may be playing too aggresively or too pasively. My advice is to download SitNGo wizard. It's a free program and it will do wonders for your SNG game near the bubble. Basically it will give random hands, stack sizes, blinds, position etc. And you decide whether to push all-in or fold. The program then tells you whether you were right or wrong. I like to do at least 50 practice hands before starting my actual SNG's. When you finish your pratice hands, go through the hands that you got wrong and think it through to see where your mistake was. This program is based on ICM / mathematics. Play on the bubble with 10 or less BB is all about making the correct mathematical play, and not being afraid to push all-in when you have positive +EV. Of course you don't figure out EV in your head at the table, by using SitNGo Wizard on a regular basis you will know when to do this intuitively. One word of caution, if you know there is a big stack behind you in the blinds that makes loose calls, you will want to pass on most marginal all-in pushes. The program uses calling ranges for the average poker player, but you should adjust your play the best you can based on your opponnents and your table image. Good luck. |
