There are 52 cards in the deck when the 1st card is dealt, 51 for the 2nd, 50 for the 3rd. So 52*51*50 gives you 132600 combinations (actually I'm not sure that is right because you have 2 hole cards ....????)

So, for the cards to fall in exactly the same order is 1 chance in 132 600.

There are 6 chances for them to fall in any order so 6 chances in 132 600 which is 1 chance in 22 100.

Thanks. I guess the calculation is made with the assumption that none of the whole cards are known.

Yeah, but you obviously know your hole cards. And assuming you're not holding the cards requried, I might adjust that to 50*49*48 which becomes 1 chance in 117 600 and 1 chance in 19 600 respectfully.

Wayne, would that be right?

Yeah, that's right, but I don't think you should say you know your own cards. Since there is a chance that you could get dealt one of those cards that should be on the flop, you should calculate the odds using all 52 cards.

The question I answered was, "Given the flop on this hand, what are the odds the flop is the exact same on the next hand."

If you wanted to assume 50 cards, you'd have to answer, "Given the flop on the last hand, and given that I'm not holding any of those cards, what are the odds the flop is the exact same on this hand."

You are right. You were correctly calculating before the deal (or before he looked at his hole cards). Cheers for that.

Just had another weird experience where I was dealt the same two sevens in the hole in a row and the flop came down 9 10 k both times in that order (although the flop wasn't the same suit).

Please stop bumping this thread with stuff that hardly even qualifies for poker stories.
