Villain is 55/25/1/46 I could look up the ATSB however I remember I didn't have time to do that during this hand as I had action on another table simultaneously. I was losing on this table and had a wild image.

This turn/river combo feels kinda gross since he probably had some high card combo unless he hit the flop somehow. However there is a decent amount of straight draws that missed and this guy is nuts, so I guess I c/c. I'm not a big fan of PF though, both because you've got two opponents and because this hand just doesn't play well at all.

$2/4 table Villain is 46/18/1.6/53 ATSB 27% over 90 hands.

Can anyone tell me why I do this preflop in addition to what to do on the turn?

I'd say check and hope to hit the 6. You already tried to make him fold twice, so if you fire another bet chances are he will call. This way if you check and get lucky and hit the 6 you know he will snap bet on the river no matter what the card is. Then you can raise confidently because you doubt he has a full house.

Edit: A bet saved is a bet earned.
