This is the official thread for the *Piece of the Pros: Phil Ivey* Multi Table Tournament that takes place on Saturday, July 1. I found my way into the event through a satellite, and I know that many other regular posters are playing in the event too, and many others will have signed up by the start of the tournament tomorrow. If you want, you can sweat me during it, because I'd like to have some fan support. Just search GripHoldon and come observe my table.
I'm also playing in the 12K guarenteed Freeroll for accumulating FTPs throughout June, and I know that PostModernBoy and some other regular posters are playing in that one too. It's a week later than the Phil Ivey tournament.
Wish me luck in both!

| Getting a piece of Phil Ivey right now is golden. For him to prevail through that extremely tough field in the Pot Limit Omaha Event was astounding. He's bound to go on a rampage in the main event so the winners of this tourney will hopefully get a decent payday. |

I doubled up early limping in with T7 and got up to about 3770...
A few hands later, however, I doubled another player up when I flopped a straight on a JQK board with 9hTh in a limped pot, unfortunately theplaguesaint had AT and won a big pot. |

| I doubled through later making a set of 5s vs KQ, but shortly thereafter a tournament changing hand came about. One player was raising a lot of pots, and I opted to play the JsTs from late position after the aggressive player opened for a raise. The flop came J87 with two spades, and my opponent overbet the pot all-in. I called, and he held QQ, but unfortunately, I couldn't outdraw him and my tournament was over. |

I am likely to continue my streak of not playing and being blinded out. |

| Whoever it was, they're looking good now. Juanda, too. |
