I just got PT3. Now I just need to get familiar with everything so I can begin to analyse and improve my game. Any tips on what stats I should be most watchful of? Besides profit/loss....LOL! Laughing

Take a look at how much you win or lose playing spefic hands. Totally made me stop playing a few hands, and got me saving money 5 mins after importing my hands for the first time.

Ya...I can't wait to get a few hands loaded up and start looking at all the data. It almost seems overwhelming the amount of info. By the way BNS...I'm just down the 401 from ya...just outside London. Very Happy

Well it WAS working great for the first night. Sad I tried to fire it up again today and all it does is freeze up on start-up. You get the initial little box that says "Poker Tracker 3 version blah blah blah" and it never moves on from there. This sucks cuz im not a computer guy at all....so I don't have a clue what to try and do. Sad

A year or two ago I used an odds calculator add-on for FTP, it claimed that it was legal, but I don't remember what it was called. All it really did was show me a little bar attached to the bottom of my table that showed me various odds and combinations based on what my hand was and what the table showed, etc.

Are these legal, and if so, where would I find these?

(also posted in NL strategy forum)

Poker Stove works well for hand evaluation and hand comparisons, but it would be great if it just had another feature. It will only calculate odds all the way to the river. I need a calculator that will give the odds just to the flop. Such as, if I have 89s what is my chance to flop to a straight draw, or flush draw, or both, and what are the odds that I flop the draw AND the flop doesn't help my opponent (with given cards). Now those are useful numbers to know. I can do this by hand and create tables but it is long and tedious to do for the flop with three cards to calculate and sum, as well as deducting discounted or counterfeited outs.

Even better would be if the software could also do just to the turn, and from flop to turn. Knowing the chance all the way to the river with three betting rounds in between isn't helpful for constructing betting strategies at other streets, or for optimizing pre-flop strategy.

Anyone know of a program to do the odds for each stage?

I'm referring to offline research software (like Poker Stove) not real-time calculators that watch the table.

I downloaded the trial version of the poker tracker software, and never could get the darn thing to work with Full Tilt. To be honest, it might help out some people but I'd rather hone my skills naturally by experience than by consulting a little calculator tool.

All hail the brain!
