I would probably fold pre as well, but I don't have a problem with the call. With no reads on the villian why is a possible set or KK out here? Then you are not a favorite. Guess what I am saying is that I don't like the push, he is not folding and you are on 9 "comfortable outs".

I don't mind the way you played it. Reads on the opponent would really clear things up though. As long as he's not too tight and is aggressive your overcards are likely to be good and you're normally making him lay down if it was only a continuation bet on the flop.

I think the call is fine, and 3-betting would be fine, too.
As played, I shove as well. I can't see that we are behind often enough to fold.

Why are you guys suggesting a fold pf after a single raise and one call when you have AQs otb 7 handed ? I think I definately call and get it in on that flop. WP

Because you'll miss the flop 2/3 of the time, and you won't have much bluff potential against two opponents. Even if you make top pair, you'll have to watch out for sets and two pair. I just try to avoid multi-way pots unless I can get in cheap.

I can't see folding AQ suited on the button once antes are in play. Plenty of people in the cutoff or hijack will raise an unopened pot with less than KK or AK in this situation. I also like the shove on the flop given your two overs and nut flush draw. If you're not intending on getting it in with this flop, then you should have folded pre-flop. Given your shove, then I think your call is fine.

I like the flop call myself. For one thing mp2s raise is a bit suspicious to me. 4.5 times the bb even with the antes makes me think medium strength hand where hes really looking for folds not action. Id consider a re-raise but not really looking to corner myself into a coin flip situation with aq. Im also aware the big stack is in the hand. Plenty of chips and position, love the call.

The flop play is risky to me. Im pretty confident im behind and I really dont like putting so many chips on the line on a draw. Id probobly fold myslef. Even if you assume hes not on qq kk or aa you have 15 outs so you really need at least 3-1 to continue imo. Im sure im in the minority here but to me Id rather wait for a better spot

Thanks for all the replies and your explanation for your choice. Sounds about 50/50, as was the hand so I guess that works out.

and just noticed that the last post was 4 days old..oh well

woulda folded pre-flop probably, but when the flop comes up, id likely push...you have at least the 9 outs, and the only thing he's pushing with is either the set (leaves u with the 8-9 outs) or overpair (besides AA, but your still at 9 outs there) with (11 outs or 13 outs)

EDIT: AK even, which still is 11 outs, or AJ/KQ, where your a big favorite!

with the 4kish of dead money in the pot, id take the 36%-ish (minimum odds), to win as well... as it is you have 13 outs (if one of the 10's werent of hearts..didnt see it) where i believe doing rough odds you are a slight favorite to win, and id push FTW
