Ok, so my first post on this forum, but not the last: I am certainly not the best stud player, but I'm no beginner either. Anyway can Strasse or Zophar please critique what went wrong here?

I think I would have checked the river, since I would have to say you are only going to get a call from someone that can beat 2 high pair. Personally, I would have put you on jacks or kings up.
I would have been worried when ray paired his door card that maybe he has trips. Bubba just chased you down with crap & got very lucky. Look for him again. At that limit tho you have to expect play like that. |

As played I think it's fine tbh. Even the 6th street bet vs. the paired doorcard is ok. When he doesn't raise here it makes it easy to bet for value on 7th as AA-2 pr. will usually call on 7th here. You played it aggressively, getting value out of each street and were outdrawn by a bad player. If the villian did have split AA, he played it very poorly and I wouldn't have given him credit for them either. Maybe that was his goal, but it's just stupid.
These hands will happen, try not to let them get to you and maintain the idea that you played it well. |

Your exactly right on this one, I moved up to 3-6 and the donk play has been greatly reduced. At least now I will get called by split and hidden pairs, rather then nothing. The catching good still happens though..lol!!! |

| The thing that I hate about stud on stars, and I think it played against you on this hand, is the high bring in. Its half of the completion. I might be tempted to just call the bring in and bet out on 4th so people don't feel as obligated to chase youd own by putting in more money on 3rd. As played, I check 7th, as I have to be worried about flush draws. Also, in regards to that AA22 guy, I'd guess that he did start with split aces and just played it bad. You can't put him on that though. |

I actually figured him for aces, but with the way he was acting so passively (check-calling) it made me think he started with a three flush, caught four on 4th street and then was hoping for that last diamond. So I agree I misplayed seventh but there is not much you can do at this limit, that's why I moved up...Thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it! |

Simple, don't bet the river unless you made trips or better. Especially in this spot. You can value bet Queen's up against one opponent.
Sometimes I've done it with one pair, but that's rare. |
