| good decision because i mean your playing a $1 sng in which everyone is mostly a donkey and you had the 2nd nut flush draw so i think you made the right decision |

I'm not sure that's an instant fold pre-flop. Given the small nature of the tourney, suited KQ is definitely flop worthy. Added to that, his call closes the betting for the round. If another active player was behind him, then the argument for folding is stronger.
Good aggressive play, the 42 os in there is dead money and gives you great odds to hit one of your draws, 15 outs twice to triple your investment. (Slightly less since guy had redraw to full house). Still, I think your play is fine here. |

There is an argument to be made for folding straight away since you're not in late position. However, your stack is so deep that I'd toss in 30 chips.
What about calling the raise?
1. Pot odds: 756 chips in the pot. 212 to call. That's about 3.5:1. Pretty good. However, your effective stack is only ~2,900 chips. So you can usually only hope to win 13 times the amount you must invest to stay in the hand. So your stack odds are a bit short if you agree with Harrington's requirement of 20x to 30x implied odds for drawing hands. Good pot odds, low stack odds. Perhaps these two cancel each other out and we'll say the pot odds are pretty much neutral. The one factor that might tip this in a favorable direction is that you're closing the action.
2. Position: You can end the betting this round, but after the flop you'll be third to act out of four. Slightly favorable. Also, you will have the best relative position on the raiser if he is the bettor on the flop. Favorable.
3. Hand Strength: Here's where we can debate a bit. I say highly unfavorable. I don't play $1 stakes, so perhaps I am way off base, but you're almost certainly beat, and perhaps even dominated. Being dominated is the worst situation because your reverse implied odds could be substantial. You're destined to lose AT LEAST one more bet with top pair if you're out-kicked. Because it's a multi-way pot, there is a strong possibility you will need to hit a draw to win the hand. That won't happen often enough to take 13:1 stack odds pre-flop.
Conclusion: I fold to the raise and conserve the big stack. |

| Well, you had two overs, almost nut flush draw, and Nut OESD. That leaves you with approximately 16-20 outs. Multiply that by two and by the river you have 36 odd cards that could improve your hand meaning by the river, your hand is almost guaranteed to be better. Funnily enough that you are playing with IcutChecks, I've played with him before, and he gets on my nerves with his random bet amounts, but that's not the point. At these stakes it isn't a bad play as you could expect someone to be on something like J10s meaning you are quite dominated but your outs make up. In the end, decent play, bad result. |
