Talk about a bad hop
"Catcher Chris Snyder left Monday night's game after getting hit by a foul tip in the groin area. About an hour before Tuesday's game the Diamondbacks put him on the 15-day disabled list with a left testicular fracture."

Didn't even think 'fracturing' a 'nad was possible. Don't they just pop or burst or some such thing.
Hoping to never find out first hand tho. |

probably a small hairline crack [oooowwwww]
i don't think a pop or burst is possible, if he's wearing a cup- was still a
hard impact imo, a foul tip only slows the ball to 65-70 mph? |

Besides all the other points made here...
Why couldn't the D'backs lie about what the injury was. I would be pissed they put that instead of something else. |

Maybe its just me, but how does something made of tissue fracture . I could see bursting or something of that nature. Anyways ouchie, that would definately make you buckle at the knees. |

Oh man, I cringe at the thought of having that happening to me. Back in high school basketball, I took a pretty hard hit in that area. It was a full-court pass that I didn't catch. I was nearly in tears as I limped back to the locker room. |

This kind of thing happens in cricket all the time, where the ball is often travelling at ~80-90MPH.

I've been on the receiving end before, but always wore a box - it still hurts like hell even with the protection. Some of my mates used to give me crap for wearing one while practicing in the nets, but there's no way I'm risking catching a leather-bound piece of cork travelling at 70MPH+ in the groin without protection. |
