I am wondering about how to to bet preflop with a less than premium or even weak hand in the big blind if several players limp in before me. By weak I include things like A-rag offsuit and K-rag offsuit or even really low suited cards with a bridgeable gap for a straight (e.g., 6-9 clubs), that I typically wouldn't play.
Normally when I bet pre-flop, I put in a standard raise of 3 times the big blind. If I have a bad or mediocre hand in the big blind, I often check. Is this giving away too much information about my hand?
Thanks!

| If you have a weak hand and theres a couple limpers, Id just check and toss it if you flop nothing. Chances are someone will call your raise and have you beat. |

| I would just check a moderate hand unless your plan is to really go over the top w/a strong reraise. If you raise from the BB w/a moderate hand, you do not want to see a flop unless your only opponent is the sb. |

Its not a bad idea to mix it up from the blinds. Try limping with the other limpers half of the time and putting up a standard raise the other half, regardless of your cards. It really throws the other players off.
