AAHHHHHHH! right, yup ,makes sense. I had it down as them little buggers would turn into bigger buggers over time this OBVIOUSLY being an invasion Wink

See this is why its a good film, allowing you to use you imagination and come up with your own reasoning as to who, what, why etc.

The really good films do this instead of leading you by the hand, like when the Statue of Liberty gets knackered - monster arrives, monster sees someone as big as him and thinks "sh/te" - monster knocks its block off - monster thinks "piece 'o' p/ss".

Also i like the films where the baddie wins, it lifts my soul to NOT see the "aren't we the superest" attitude of most flicks, we would indeed get seven shades knocked out of us.

Just an opinion.

Films where the baddies win definitely create points on why 3:10 to Yuma was a much, much better film. Not exactly for those reasons, but I like points where I can mine them.

I enjoyed Cloverfield but many people don't like the hand held camera action.

It's a very similar reaction to the original Blair Witch Project.

Some viewers just can't take the shaky camera.

I read somewhere that the monster was a juvenile also. The filmmaker said it in an interview or something. I can't remember where I read it but I think the filmmaker was talking about a sequel and saying how this was just the kid wait until you see the adult or something like that.

I also thought this movie was good. People have to remember it was shot as if it was 'real' and people dwell too much on how the acting was bad (which I thought it was ok due to the fact that it was suppose to as if this was really taking place, yes I know all movies are suppose to be like that but...) and the fact that the hand held cam a lot of people didn't like that and didn't get past that fact while watching this film.

Heck, I even know a few people who didn't watch this movie because of the hand held cam. Like I said I really enjoyed this movie.

An intersesting thing to look for is at the end of the movie, when the video cuts back to boy and girl for happy thoughts. If you look over her shoulder (I think it's her, I caught it the one time I saw it at the theatre, so memory is a little foggy), you will see something fall out of the sky and land in the water. Since that clip is 2 weeks before, we are left to assume that falling object is indeed the monster at an even younger age.

What was interesting about Cloverfield was that the monster was just a Baby, er what ever it was, not even full grown yet.

Interesting you bring this up, the great thing about this film I found was that it left much up to personal assumption.
How did you come to this conclusion that it was a baby? not saying that you are wrong but i did not get this impression, am curious why you did.

When the little ones fell of it ( that was the scariest bit, one big one you can see comming and leggit. Little, fast ones eeeek!!!) gave me the impression that it was an adult, if you can understand that.
Any way brillo movie and cant wait to see iron man.

Also the new Hulk film looks like it could be excellent, I loved the Ang Lee version for daring to be diffrent and being a feast for the eyes but not enough BOOM; and ed norton is a world class actor.

On the DVD in the special features there are the producers and film makers talking. They said it was a baby kind of lost and lumbering through New York. If you pay attention the monster is not destroying everything like Godzilla would but more like confused, scared. It gets shot at and runs through a building. Nothing is more scary than a frightened 350 foot toall monster with great big teeth.

If you watch the movie there is a spot where the monster is rubbing it's back against a building trying to scratch off the parasites.

The movie was quite cool. The guy who made the movie thought it would be great if Amercia had it's own monster like Japan has Godzilla (Godzilla is cool BTW). JJ Abrahms movie, he made the show Lost and the upcoming Star Trek movie. He likes to put little twists in his movies/shows.
Peace

Who says the baddie won? At the beginning of the movie it says the camera was found in Centeral Park. At the end you see it was buried in rubble.

Who the hell goes digging in rubble with a giant monster still alive and running around?

GO HUMANS!

Man, the monster took direct hits from 500lb bombs and keep on going, hell no they did not kill it. If they did there can't be a sequal...
