Villian had been quiet the first 20 hands or so. Then about 5 hands before this one, he lost most of his stack to a flush after paying off with just 2nd pair weak kicker. He then shoved his 900 chip stack 3 of the next 5 hands, doubling up the 3rd time with a JQ after he won a coinflip. Then this hand occured. Call or fold?

Obviously you've a great chance against his range here, as there's no way he's on an overpair so you're basically looking at:
PP from 22-99
2 random high cards
suited connectors
Ace-rag
From this range, the hands that have hit a set or contain a 9 are well outnumbered by the hands you're beating. I can't be bothered doing the maths, but I imagine you can work that side of things out.. I call. |

How can you just eliminate an overpair immediately like that ?? Flatting in position with an overpair isn't uncommon at all. |

| It's unlikely he'd resist shoving an overpair. He's shoved the last few hands, and would have a great chance of getting a call if he wanted one pre-flop. |

| Yeah, I'm willing to go down if he's got me beat here. I'd call. |

I was aware of this, but i thought an overpair was very unlikely here. This would have been the perfect time for him to shove a bigger pair, knowing that with his little semi tilt the last few hands he would get called by a much larger range. I basically put him on a weak PF hand. The problem was i had to decide if whatever trash he played contained a 9. With about two seconds left after calling time, i decided to make the call. I can beat mid and bottom pair, a smaller pp, a draw, two overs, and ace high. I didn't put him on a set or he would have played it slower i think. Only a 9 kills me here, so i called. ****........
