i just got eliminated from a tourney where to my left was a calling station, calling with horrible hands and getting REALLY lucky. About 100 out of 1800 left. The blinds were 500/1000 and i have about 9k. It was folded to me in the cut-off seat and i had ace-6 of hearts. I push 4k in trying to pick up the blinds, guy to left (won't say his name) raised all-in, sb folded, bb called all-in. I'm not completely sure about pot odds, but i'm pretty sure putting in 5k more was the right move. Guy to left shows 5-8 of hearts, bb shows ace-jack offsuit. Flop was 569 with 2 hearts, good for me. Turn was 2 of diamonds, also good for me. River was a 5 of clubs. He became the chip leader after this hand. Now, it's hard for me not to seem like the people who say FTP is rigged, but time and time again, i see horrible play rewarded. I envy the people who complain about the people who say it's rigged, cause they clearly don't go through the crap i do.
I'm aware i shouldn't have tried to pick up the blinds with a calling station to my left....but 5-8???....come on... |
